Oh, ya wanna play bumper sticker, do ya?
Mount Blogmore chuckles over this anti-Varilek submission from the South Dakota Republican Party's graphic design intern:
DWC snorts its approval; Bob Newland responds a bit more fantastically:
Not bad, Bob, but I think that's the wrong pairing. Try this:
This campaign should be all sorts of fun.
Holy crap, do Boehner and Noem share their tanning bed minutes?!?
What are those two real people doing standing between the wax figurines?
ahhhhh....look at that. The democrats learned how to use ms paint.
How much energy could we save if Noem and Boehner stopped tanning? Also, and this is a little known fact, but two seconds after this picture was taken lasers shot right out of Kristi's eye's. The laser beams traveled straight down the hall, through a window, out on to the street, into her offices, and set fire to her entire monthly planner. And that's why she missed so many committee meetings.
Matt! Brilliant! Sounds like next season's top readers theater....
Fun, if you can ignore the petty meanness. And the fact that political discourse has devolved into bumper sticker snark. And then, let us talk about education.
In Kristi's defense, that is a very airbrushed photo. She is not really that tan. Now Boehner on the other hand...
I like the picture of Noem as a Gnome. They could have used a less minx-y gnome than the one from DnD 4.0, though.
I'm a giant nerd.
Bob could use some Photoshop classes, I think.
I just wanted to share my love of this comment in the Decorum Forum's post...
Douglas said...
Romney is square head sponge brain.

"Square-head sponge-brain" is going to be my go-to insult for the rest of my life.
Is that "Douglas" as in Doug Wiken? Just curious. It is pretty funny, I agree.
Not got carried away when tanning.
Newland makes Romney look like Fonzney. As for Noem, I'm afraid that I fail to see the link.
But the Wilson/CAH thingy, well, they both sure got good tans. But take it from me, you sun lovers: It will come back to poke your patooties some day.
One of the best bumper stickers that I can remember came from either 1968 or 1972 (I forget which): NOXIN. Turn it upside down...
I first thought "Square-Head, Sponge-Brain" appropriate for Jeb Bush when I saw his profile on CBS morning blather. To my surprise however Jeb Bush actually made a bit of sense. Seemed like it might work better for Romney who has never made much sense.
SDPB-TV is so busy trying to raise money by special snake-oil salesman, old rock and roll, and the 8th broadcast of the SD Flyover video (pretty good anyway), that they could not find time for Charlie Rose full interview of Jeb Bush.
I resisted Using "Spongiform encephalopathic" brain.
As I thought. Good one Douglas!
Stan, when I was at YC in the late '60s and Nixon was prez, we used to drive around and see all these signs for "Nixon Feeds." I was from West River, and the other musicians, artists, etc I hung out with were mostly from New York and Ohio. None of us were familiar with the local economy, so we at first thought "Nixon Feeds" was a lefty, anti-war, political statement. Even after we figured it out, we still thought of those signs that way... a nice way of saying "Nixon [blows, sucks... whatever.].
Reply for Stan: I googled "female gnome" in google images and stole the image, since it more-or-less embodies Kristie's personality (she'll do what the big boys tell her to, and that might entail stabbing someone, but hey...).
I said it was lame.
Not lame at all, Bob... at least no lamer than the GOP jibe to which it responds! I didn't catch the Noem-gnome play until Carter pointed it out. I appreciate the connection!
Noem needs to apologize to Native Americans for the "red face" she's wearing in that last picture.
"The state with the highest racially charged search rate in the country was West Virginia. Other areas with high percentages included western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, upstate New York and southern Mississippi.
Add up the totals throughout the country, and racial animus cost Mr. Obama three to five percentage points of the popular vote. In other words, racial prejudice gave John McCain the equivalent of a home-state advantage nationally."
