To understand what matters to folks reading the paper out here in the Northern Paha Sapa, check out the front pages of Wednesday's and Friday's Black Hills Pioneer:

Yep, no bias out here. It would be more informative to review the headlines announcing Bush's election and reelection contrast to Obama's.

Alas, John, my BHP back issues only run back to October.

We have to remember that this is a newspaper for Pioneers. They did not care about an economy or they would have stayed out east. They wanted space and freedom. So Obama doing good in a bad economy was normal and is normal for a South Dakotan. They still have their space to park and are proud of their Broncs. This is still South Dakota.

They care about the economy. In fact they point out in the headline that Obama wins "despite the week economy." They care indeed.

The Passion Play site was sold?

Ads taking up 1/4 of the front page? That's what print journalism has sunk to. It's a shame. I have always liked spandex.

Did some searching and found out its a friend of mines uncle who bought the Passion Play site.

As far as the newspaper, its not a great newspaper but whats the first goal of politics? all politics are local, and the same goes to the local newspaper, all news is local. For most subscribers they could care less about reading about Obama, or even Kristi Noem (though more would want that) They would rather care what the city council ok'd to be annexed and how the local volleyball team is doing. Its just the facts.

Klan rallies, Christian/skinhead concerts, bake sales, antique shows featuring lampshades made of human skin, not much will change at the 'Passion Play' site, really.
