Noem Robocalls Citizen Dealing with Black Hills Blizzard

Rep. Kristi Noem was busy praying and retweeting for her constituents during Friday's big blizzard (proof that prayer is about as useful as a screen door in a snowstorm, right? Right?!). But she also appears to have been busy robocalling them during the storm.

An eager reader from the greater Rapid City region reports that on Friday his cell phone rang and chirped, "This is Kristi Noem." The reader's power was out, and the reader was busy moving cars to keep branches from falling on them, so the reader didn't stick around to hear our Congresswoman's message.

A reader in the "My Two Cents" section of the Rapid City Journal says Noem and other Congressional Republicans are using teleconferences to "convince us how they are truly concerned about the Government shutdown and the economic effects on federal workers when in fact they are really determined to stop the ACA (‘ObamaCare’) no matter what the repercussions on us little people."

Rep. Noem's robocalls are as helpful and as political as her statement to ranchers who've livestock to the storm. She basically tells them they're on their own in documenting their losses. She does not mention that she and her colleagues are responsible for temporarily shutting down the Farm Service Agency that would usually be helping ranchers document those losses.

When Rep. Noem wants to talk, she expects everyone to drop everything and listen. But when constituents need real help, well, Rep. Noem says you're on your own. But she's sure prayin' for ya! You betcha!
