Governor Dennis Daugaard is hiding from debates in incumbency and Mongolia, but the Democrats seeking to replace him aren't. If you can't wait two weeks for the SDPB debate between Joe Lowe and Susan Wismer, you can truck over to Brookings on Tuesday, May 20, to hear the Democratic contenders hash out their résumés and policy positions.
The candidates will meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Brookings Public Library, in the Cooper Room. They will respond to questions from moderator and SDSU poli-sci professor emeritus Bob Burns. Audience members may also submit written questions before the show begins.
The Brookings County Democrats are hosting, but decent and open folks that they are, they invite everyone—Dem, Indy, GOP, whatever—to come participate.
We have a debate tonight on South Dakota Public Television. Tomorrow night in Kyle and then this one Tuesday. Great!
Good for the Democrats! That's the way it should be, no favoritism by the party chairman pulling strings in the background!
