Libertarians Seek Poopers for Rounds Party in Sioux Falls Thursday

Pat Powers does his master's bidding and advertises the "SDGOP Grassroots Express State Tour" with special guest Mike Rounds—

—wait. SDGOP? Snort. Grassroots? Hee hee. Mike Rounds?

Hoo boy! O.K., I'm recovered. Back to work. (Giggle!)

The SDGOP will hold a pep rally for Mike Rounds in Sioux Falls tomorrow, Thursday, July 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at their volunteer center on 406 S. 2nd, near the post office. They will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs (Food for votes! Food for votes!)

Some Libertarians are hoping to poop on that pep. The South Dakota Libertarian Party convention page carries this call to action from organizer Emmett Reistroffer:

Who wants to raise some hell at rush hour outside the Rounds campaign office tomorrow? They're having Rounds in for a speech to his supporters. Lets waive picket signs outside to demand answers about his crony-capitalism. The EB-5 program is a perfect example of why the government shouldn't expand its reach into the free market. The South Dakota EB-5 scandal is a picture perfect example of the corruption in our own state government. WE MUST FIGHT THE ESTABLISHMENT! LETS START MAKING NOISE!!! Please like the page Investigate Mike Rounds & Dennis Daugaard NOW and let me know if you're interested in protesting. I'm making homeade signs for as many people need them, or bring your own! [Emmett Reistroffer, Facebook post to SDLP convention page, 2014.07.16]

I don't know, Emmett: shout like that, and you might not get a hot dog. But there's more than one way to roast a wienie.

Emmett, can you guarantee us hot dogs? I mean, if the Republicans won't share. ;-)

Wish I could be there but have a conflict. Lora is going to be in Rapid or she would show. I will talk to Mike. I think this will be fun. Time to rise and shout....The anti-establishment is out. Hope the Dems, Indies, tea-Partiers, and Constitutionalists join forces with the Libs.

Mr. H, I would go there to watch and bring you out some free hot dogs with fancy mustard. You should make sure to take pictures for us.

Evidently the Rounds rally tomorrow is meant to kick off a "grassroots" tour with Mike Rounds touring South Dakota's small towns in a luxurious bus. Rick Weiland has been touring the state for a year in a pretty typical family vehicle. Team Weiland sends out this press release challenge to Rounds:

    ******************************
Upon hearing that Mike Rounds will be planning to travel around South Dakota in his new “Grassroots Express” bus, US Senate candidate Rick Weiland, who met with voters today in Mt. Vernon, Corsica, Stickney, Armour, Menno and Freeman, commended Rounds for planning to travel extensively to the smallest parts of the state.

"Today is the one year anniversary of the start of my town to town visits. I must be on to something if Mike Rounds has decided to trade his plane in for a bus,” Weiland said.

Weiland has made more more than 450 town visits and counting as he continues his second trip to every incorporated South Dakota town. Along the way he has held over 200 town hall meetings, discussing how the federal government has been hijacked by big-money special interests and how we must "Take it Back" to create real opportunities for people to earn their way into the middle class.

Rounds has thus far declined Weiland's requests for several small town debates across the state and Weiland thinks both of them traveling together through South Dakota may present the perfect opportunity.

"If it is true that Mike Rounds is going to be retracing some of my steps, this is a great opportunity for us to debate the issues face-to-face, live and unrehearsed in front of the citizens of South Dakota. Let's keep this campaign real and not inundate voters with a bunch of television ads and keep the big money out," Weiland challenged.

“So, how ‘bout it Mike," Weiland asked. "Can I join you on your bus tour and travel the state together to present our ideas to the voters in person and let the people decide?”

How many Indian reservations will Rounds be visiting?

Rounds would never go for that Cory. Weiland actually believes in what he talks about and isn't afraid to take tough questions from normal people in this state.
Rounds not so much or I don't think so. Rounds has been in hiding. He goes to safe events. If he believed in his ideas he wouldn't be afraid to talk about them and take some tough questions.
I think people are starting to realize this and are at least looking at Weiland.

I think the anti-establishment/anti-corruption candidates needs to get a vehicle called the Anti-establishment express and follow the so-called grassroots express around SD.

Hey Tara sounds like you have taken after our hero Keith T., a true Anti-establishment person!!!

Oldguy, are you talking about Owen's cousin, Keith.
