Obama Oversees Steady Job Improvement: Send More Democrats to Help!

Hey, Democrats! Do we get a 2014 electoral boost from steadily improving job numbers? Consider:

1. Ever since President Barack Obama's first budget kicked in, unemployment has trended steadily downward:

2. Since the beginning of the Obama Administration, Gallup's Job Creation Index (percentage of firms hiring minus percentage of firms downsizing) has steadily increased:

3. Sandbagging those gains have been Republican resistance to government hiring. More public employers were firing rather than hiring during President Obama's first term:

President Obama has overseen steady recovery in the labor market since averting an economic depression. We'd be recovering faster if President Obama really had increased the size of government as Republicans have accused him of doing, as more teachers, police, case workers, park rangers, and researchers would provide more public services and boost GDP by buying more Cheetos, chain saws, and Jeep Cherokees.

Republican recalcitrance has kept every one of the curves above shallower than it could have been. Sending more Republicans to Washington on their vow to block or sue President Obama's every move will further brake economic recovery. Sending more Democrats to Washington will get the job done... and get more jobs.

Sometime back John Tristan's blog talked about President Obama being one of the most business friendly presidents in recent history. The steady job growth in the private sector proves his point.
Naturally the Republicans will find a way to deny or discredit this growth and claim President Obama had nothing to do with it. Their preference is to manufacture one crisis after another without doing an ounce of work to improve the nation's economy.

In MN the Republicans are trying to go after Gov. Dayton on the economy. It's a really bad idea because MN has been solidly on the leading edge of those economic indicators. That happened through economic policies Obama may have liked to use. Dayton didn't have Republican obstructionists crippling economic growth. Imagine if Obama hadn't either.

Single payer health insurance. $10 fed minimum wage. A flood of green energy jobs. Increased social services funding=better supervision of foster homes, welfare cheats, child support enforcement, etc, etc, etc.

A girl can dream, can't she?

This is the kind of report Republicans fear most for the mid-terms.
Every Democrat running for office should be shouting this news from the rooftops.

Mitch McCTurtle can honestly say now that he wants to make Obie a one term Potus and he would be factually accurate, for once, unless Obie uses executive power to re-appoint hisownself as Potus and piss off wingnuts good. McCJowlWattles also has done his best to block everything Obie has tried to do to fix what Wingnuts broke.

Yes, Deb, a girl can dream. Selling that wish list may scare off true-red Republicans, but it's the kind of list we should use to remind Democrats why we need to stick together and back the President by sending him Rick Weiland, Corinna Robinson, and a Democratic Congress to get things done during his last two years!

MFI, I love the descriptive names you use for people. And for the fake people too, like Koch Enterprises, etc. Clever. You make me laugh. Thanks.

Deb,it rilly helps helps having a nutjob like "Cantaloupe Calves" King as my representative, although I'm not sure exactly who or what he represents. He surely does love hisself some Michele Bachmann and Louie Gohmert. It also helps to find others onhere with a sense of humor, like you.
