Charlie Johnson Applies the Tongue Test to Organic Farming

Last updated on 2015.12.01

Hey, that's my neighbor Charlie Johnson on the YouTube!

Actually, it's an ad from the Organic Farmers' Agency for Relationship Marketing. But it's also a great nutshell explanation of the Organic farming philosophy Charlie inherited from his dad Bernard: "What goes on this land has to go on our tongue first." (I invite you to take up with Charlie what that means about his use of manure as fertilizer.)

Thank God for people like Charlie Johnson. He is a true conservationists that treasures the land and environment. He is a wonderful advocate for healthy lifestyles and is not afraid to speak out against corporate giants like Monsanto. We need people in Leadership positions like Charlie. Does SDSU or any other school in SD have a Dept. of Organic farming? There could be an emphasis in Industrial and Agricultural Hemp and Medical marijuana. Charlie, you just may be called on as a consultant or Professor of Organic Farming.

Sen. James Inhofe. The 80-year-old Republican from Oklahoma is one of the most notorious deniers of human-induced climate change. He has contended that God controls the Earth's climate, not Homo sapiens, and he has quoted the Bible to make this point: "As long as the Earth remains there will be seed time and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night." And Inhofe, thanks to the recent elections, is in line to chair the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee when the Republicans assume control of the Senate next month. He has vowed to do all he can to block regulations aimed at cutting emissions.
