yup. That says it all. Snow job

  2. Disgusted Dakotan 2014.12.21

Celebrate the season!? That's not what I'm celebrating. Who celebrates the cold winter?

    Pragmatists..

  3. Jana 2014.12.21

OMG! Someone call Fox News and Bill O'Reilly...Mike Rounds has declared war on Christmas!

  4. Jenny 2014.12.21

    Mike Rounds is anti-christian.

  5. Paula 2014.12.21

You people really don't have enough important things going on in your lives, do you? Merry Christmas!

  6. Jenny 2014.12.21

Merry Christmas to you also, Paula. My holiday really starts the day after Christmas. After Xmas Sales galore!

  7. Greg 2014.12.21

Just an innocent Family picture at Christmas and people stoop so low to call them anti Christians. Way to go democrats, Happy Holidays

  8. Jenny 2014.12.21

We're not doin' anything the 'pubs haven't done to us in regards to the religion card, Greg. 'Sides, a little sarcasm never hurt anyone.

Hey, Greg, I'm just saying it looks awfully dark for a holiday card. The metaphor represents his campaign quite aptly. As for my other commenters, hey, they are simply mocking the very criticism Republicans have dished on President Obama for not using enough Christian buzzwords.

But for the record, folks, if you look at the inside of the card on Pat's website, you'll see good ol' Mike rolls out some Gospel and says "Christmas."

  11. Patrick Duffy 2014.12.21

    Too much, Cory.

Suffice it to say that I'm the last guy in South Dakota Mike Rounds would ever have on his Christmas card list after this campaign, but it nonetheless seems to me that to savage a family Christmas card is not a hard, or fair, or legitimate hit, but is instead a foul blow rather mysteriously struck.

    Especially at Christmas.

I'm with Pat on this one. Families are great. They humanize us all. I enjoy seeing Mike's family. I had a lot of run-ins with certain folks in South Dakota, but family life was always something we had in common, and could talk about.

  13. Rorschach 2014.12.21

I agree with Pat and Don. We should not stoop to the level of criticizing family Christmas cards. I like the card, and I wish a Merry Christmas to the Rounds family and to everybody on this blog!

To any atheists reading this (Cory), may the spirit of secular humanism be upon you!

    All I want to know is how Chad Haber finagled his way into the card(-;

  15. larry kurtz 2014.12.21

    Nuke 'em.

  16. larry kurtz 2014.12.21

Pope Gregory XIII so hated a woman's cycle he created a twelve-month calendar: Hail, Mary full of hate.

  17. larry kurtz 2014.12.21

My new year starts in a few hours: suffer, religionists.

  18. Owen 2014.12.21

typical Republican Greg. Can dish it out but can' take it

  19. Jenny 2014.12.21

I was just havin' a little fun. I think it's a beautiful picture, otherwise.

  20. grudznick 2014.12.21

Things will start to get brighter tomorrow.

  21. jerry 2014.12.21

Indeed Mr. Grudznick, it is all uphill from here. I even feel it tonight as the morning draws nearer. Funny how that works. There is solace in solstice.

  22. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.12.21

Family Christmas card? Come on: it's a public political statement, self-promotion, just like everything else coming from Team Rounds. It's also under-exposed... again, much like Team Rounds.

  23. leslie 2014.12.21

doesn't look much like real liberal media. statistically 1 in 16 of this group will be denied healthcare by daugaard.

  24. grudznick 2014.12.21

Who took this horrible picture that is so offensive to libbies? Which Rounds brother is not in that picture?

  25. leslie 2014.12.21

    risk management

  26. Nick Nemec 2014.12.21

It's just a Christmas card from a politician. It's not worth talking about and nitpicking it puts us on the same level as DWC and Fox News when they attack President Obama or his family for perceived wrongs like teenager clothing worn to turkey pardoning ceremonies.

  27. JeniW 2014.12.21

Grudz, I do not think his extended family are in this picture. You will notice that Dad/Grandpa is not in the picture.

It is probably just their children and grandchildren.

  28. JeniW 2014.12.21

I meant, their children, their children's spouse, and grandchildren.

  29. mike from iowa 2014.12.22

Just like wingnuts to get butt hurt over a few sarcastic comments. Take a look around and you will see wingnuts don't back off for christmas or any other holiday. They trained their big guns on Obie the Magnificent and his wife and children since day 1 and are still blasting away. Wah freaking wah! They're dreaming of a white Potus with every billion bucks they give out. May your days be merry and bright and may all wingnut potii be white.

  30. Nick Nemec 2014.12.22

Oh I agree Mike, but I refuse to stoop to righty wingnut level.

  31. Douglas Wiken 2014.12.22

What the hell. Anything about Mike and his family is fair game. He and other Republicans continually attack Democratic family values as being sub-standard or immoral or ungodly, etc ad nauseaum. Every politician's Christmas card or message is just one more cynical propaganda shot. Rounds should wait until April Fool's day to send out his crapola.

  32. Patrick Duffy 2014.12.22

    "Anything" is fair game?

    Nonsense.

  33. 96Tears 2014.12.22

At least nobody in the fam is underemployed.

  34. John Hess 2014.12.22

Oh say something nice. Handsome family. Coats too dark.
