Stricherz, Haggar, Nelson, Buhl Float Bills

My favorite freshmen aren't just sitting on their hands and letting the party leadership tell them what to do: they're proposing bills!

  • My own District 8 Rep. Patricia Stricherz has floated HB 1055, which tells employers they can't block employees who also volunteer as emergency responders from having their emergency radios on at work or from responding to emergency calls during work hours
  • Rep. Stace Nelson (R-25/Fulton) is prime sponsor in the House of SB 54, which ups the penalty for shooting unauthorized naughty videos from Class 1 misdemeanor to Class 6 felony if the victim is a minor and the camera creep is 21 or older. 21?! Come on, a crime's a crime, right? Drop that felony age to 18.
  • Rep. Jenna Haggar ("I"-15/Sioux Falls) brings us HB 1045, which lets dental hygienists pay $30 for a license to perform preventive and therapeutic services "at a nursing facility, an extended care facility or by a home health agency serving the elderly or disabled, a public institution under the Department of Human Services, Social Services, Health, or Corrections, a federally qualified health center, a public health facility, a tribal or Indian health service facility, a mobile dental unit, or a public or nonpublic school, or through a head start program or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children."
  • Senator Angie Buhl (D-15/Sioux Falls) posts HB 1052, which allows the number of pharmacy technicians a pharmacist may have on duty from two to three. Hey, Angie, why do we have that limit in the first place?

Not all of the freshmen are busting their chops. Among freshmen who catch my attention, Reps. Deelstra, Hickey, Liss, and Munsterman are still brainstorming. Get to work, freshmen!

Update 09:05 CST: Rep. Munsterman is in the hopper with SB 61!

Liss's bill isn't in the hopper yet; do you have a draft handy you can tell us about?

is time to be happy. I've read this post and if I could I want to suggest you few interesting things or advice.
Maybe you can write next articles referring to this article.
