Kristi Noem Stamping Her Style on Washington…

...hair style, that is:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Paris to meet with Libyan opposition leader
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Paris to meet with Libyan opposition leader
Kristi Noem at CPAC 2011
Kristi Noem at CPAC 2011 to meet with arch-conservative opposition leaders.

I leave any and all speculation on political signals to my commenters.

Not receiving Noem cuts: expense accounts for Kristi's leaders.

Meanwhile, Rep. Noem brings Watertown its first Congressional office!

    And a fact check:

Representative Kristi Noem (SD-AL) defended her vote to protect federal funding for the poster child of Republican excessive spending - Alaska's "Bridges to Nowhere" - because, as she told Rapid City Journal, "that specific vote they had on the House floor was a procedural vote they were trying to do to send it back to committee."

In reality, the motion would not have ended the Surface Transportation
Extension Act of 2011 nor would it have sent it back to the Transportation Committee. Since the motion included the language, "forthwith," Representative Kristi Noem actually voted against finally ending the authorization for federal funding to the "Bridges to Nowhere." The measure would have saved nearly $183 million from these projects and prohibit future transportation funds for this Republican sponsored earmark.

How is this the best decision for the state of SD? If it was the best choice for SD Thune and Johnson would do the same. I think it's a snub to Aberdeen and people in Aberdeen should go to Thune and Johnson rather than Noem. Noem is doint once again what is best for Noem. What I hear is that Johnson and Thune are running circles around Noem's staff anyway. I hear SF has good workers for Noem though.

"Traditionally representatives have chosen to have offices in Aberdeen but Shields said logistically Watertown made more sense for Noem."

"House offices don't have as many resources as the Senate offices," Shields said. "We wanted to put our people in different areas with the broadest reach, which is what lead us to Watertown."

So Noem is going to have 4 offices with a part time spot in Aberdeen? How often is someone going to be in that part time office? And how is that fiscally conservative?

I would like to know if Thune thinks its best to have an office in Watertown or Aberdeen. Geographically speaking it would be a lot easier to cover Mobridge and the rest of the NE from Aberdeen than Watertown.

Gentleman, please! We seem to be losing sight of the important issue here.
Surely someone has something to say about Mrs. Clinton's new hair!

    Slow news day?

Can we move past the discussion on her hair and onto more important topics?

[CAH: Three serious posts this morning, one more coming this evening, 83% more posts so far this month than six authors at Dakota War College can crank out... I think I'm entitled to the occasional fluff... and even my fluff includes links to two serious news stories! :-D ]
