Noem Cancels Madison Visit, Goes to Aberdeen

Was it something I said? KJAM reports Congresswoman Kristi Noem canceled a visit to Madison, where she was going to talk flooding with local officials. Nertz! She could have come to our county water quality committee meeting tonight, where I'm sure we could have offered a flood of questions.

Good Lord willing, Rep. Noem will still make a public discussion in Aberdeen this afternoon. Eagles' Nest, Aberdeen Rec Center, 1 to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served (tea, anyone?).

Not on the Aberdeen agenda: discussion of Rep. Noem's support for job-killing (and maybe patient-killing?) cuts to the wildly successful community health centers that President Bush expanded.

Ow, ow, ow! Kristi no like hard question! Stop stop stop!

Bonus Noem Brain-Teaser: If you're going to the Aberdeen meeting, ask Congresswoman Noem if she supports Rep. Jim Jordan's HR 1135, a bill that would have the federal government take management's side in labor disputes by denying food stamps to entire families if one member participates in a strike.

Re: HR 1135...This is part of the GOP effort to take away the influence of unions for political reasons not budget reasons. Even if you ignore the "meaness" of this bill, it seems to be lost on the GOP that union membership might help to get off of food stamps, but then again, read my first sentence.

I've heard she has a fundraiser in Aberdeen. Do you think that's true? Probably going to visit donors.

I heard it from a friend who lives in Aberdeen (was a big Herseth donor/supporter) that he and his wife recieved an invite to a fundraiser in Aberdeen today for Noem.
