Noem Votes to Deny Women Emergency Care; Unemployment Unaffected

Congresswoman Kristi Noem cast another useless vote this week, voicing her support for denying women legal, constitutionally protected emergency health care. The Senate is unlikely to consider the House's latest abortion bill, but just to be safe, President Obama vows he will veto this monstrous distraction.

The question for Representative Noem is how this impotent vote on her part has anything to do with her number one priority of cutting spending and creating jobs. Noem's tally of actual policy accomplishments remains at zero.

I love the sign. Though I am going to support pro-life causes.

The one thing I will not do however is support Congresswoman Noem. She is absolutely useless in congress. She is a totally self absorbed human being and she makes me sick.

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and a woman who was very active in the Noem primary campaign came up to me and asked "did Kristi change?" I said no she never stood for the things she made you think she did.

Noem was always about Noem. Not about changing anything.

So, Noem supporters losing some faith in their candidate, and the South Dakota Republican Party not willing to throw her under the bus. Does this open the door for a well funded Democrat candidate to possibly take the election with support of a Democrat presidential campaign? I know that a Democrat presidential nominee has not taken the state since LBJ, but with money rolling into the state from a campaign, well funded Democrat candidate, and discontent from Noem supporters could allow a Democrat to win. I know it is a long shot, and DWC will disagree with me and point to the 285k that Noem has raised this quarter as a barometer of her support in this state. I think it is going to be a close election.

I'm with you both, guys! TC, the folks who say Noem has it in the bag are engaged in wishful thinking. A determined, forceful, and well-funded Democrat can give her a run for every penny of her big money.

Done (I think)! Thanks for snapping and sharing the pic!

I too love the sign. I'm going to support pro-choice causes (not that I don't do that already, but I'm going to continue to do so).

The whole abortion/women's rights/whatever thing, although clearly an issue (though it shouldn't be), seems to me like it's a smoke screen. I agree very much with the sign that the real concern should be jobs. I think the Republicans know they're losing mountains of support because of their failed policies and ideology, and so they're trying to latch on to different groups in the hope of winning elections. It won't work, though. Every day it seems like they become more out of touch with the people, and they lose more support.

Now we just have to hope they wither away and the Democrats become the new right, then we can get a left-wing party that's actually left-wing.
