Republican-in-name-only Senate candidate Annette Bosworth continues her sloppy and quite likely illegal mingling of political and non-profit activities. Bosworth filed her official statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission on July 12 (the FEC received it July 13). That document declares the address of the "Dr. Annette Bosworth for U.S. Senate" committee as "5000 S. Minnesota Ave Ste 100, Sioux Falls, SD 57108.
The address of Bosworth's non-profit Preventive Health Strategies is 5000 S. Minnesota Ave Ste 100, Sioux Falls, SD 57106 (did you type in the wrong ZIP, Chad?).
The address of Bosworth's private medical practice Meaningful Medicine is 5000 S. Minnesota Ave Ste 100, Sioux Falls, SD 57108.
If you send Annette Bosworth a campaign check, it will go to her office on South Minnesota. A Bosworth employee will pick up that mail and distribute it. That Bosworth employee will be either an employee of non-profit Preventive Health Strategies, which under IRS 501(c)3 rules cannot participate directly in a political candidate's campaign on office time; an employee of Meaningful Medicine, which under state campaign finance law cannot contribute to a political campaign, or an employee of the Bosworth Senate campaign, which cannot be using the resources of a non-profit agency supported by private donations that donors thought were going for Haiti relief and other charitable projects.
No matter who picks up that campaign mail at the Preventive Health Strategies office, that person puts the Bosworth campaign in violation of basic campaign law.
My prediction stands: the Dr. Annette Bosworth for U.S. Senate campaign will not survive long enough to seek signatures for the primary ballot.
5000 S. Minnesota is also the address of Rod's Property Management, The Sioux Falls Storm, Integrative Wellness and a host of other businesses, I guess that means the Bosworth campaign is also playing football, managing properties, and performing diet and weight loss procedures too?
Suite 100?
I believe, Integrative wellness is also hers. I agree with Cory, they are not all under the same suite. There are many suites in that building.
Integrative Wellness? Suite 200... I haven't heard of them. They aren't in the Secretary of State's corporate database. Their website lists their counselors. Does Bosworth own it?
The businesses in question are all located in the same suite (100). Integrated Wellness across the hall has nothing to do with Meaningful Medicine or Preventive Health Strategies or any political campaign or candidates that I am aware of. The only connection with Dr. Bosworth may be an occasional patient referral one way or another, but I don't know that for sure.
I can confirm that Integrative Wellness has nothing to do with Annette Bosworth or anything associated with her campaign or political leanings. They have placed a sign on the door directing anyone who may looking for Bosworth to the right location.
I have seen both offices personally.
