Minnehaha Co. Mentions Annette Bosworth’s Tax Delinquency: Intervention Time!

Forget the Kristi Noem path to victory; Annette Bosworth-Haber is now following the Gordon Howie path to fourth place by failing pay her property taxes:

The above clip appeared in Monday's Sioux Falls paper, informing us that the Senate candidate owes Minnehaha County $3,202.50 in property taxes on two plots in Hartford. Perhaps those two lots are the properties that Bosworth lost when Cortrust Bank (double irony that an entity with that name puts the screws to Bosworth) foreclosed on them the day after she leaked her candidacy.

Boy, if I were $3K in dutch to the county, I wouldn't be trying to buy a plane ticket to the Philippines. I'd be putting in extra hours at the office to pay my delinquent taxes.

So Bosworth tricks people into buying tickets for raffles that don't happen. She doesn't pay her employees. And now she cheats her fellow taxpayers by not paying her property taxes.

Even Pat Powers appears to have realized that backing Bosworth won't pay off, as he finally ends his Bosworth fluff-fest and links to Washington pundit Stuart Rothenberg's declaration of Bosworth's political cluelessness.

Bosworth is still pretending to campaign, taking her medicine show to Cubby's in Brookings on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Brookings friends, bring your cameras. Ask her when... no, nix that. Annette needs an intervention. Demand that she pay her bills. Demand that she quit pretending, quit cheating, and go back to work to earn the honest money her kids need her to make to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads.

Well, it's pretty clear now she should be running the country...

It is clear to me that one of these white coats is nuts, take your pick.

I am curious if their have been any camera crews from MTV following Team Bosworth for a new reality series "Running for Office." There must be some gain from this. Is narcissism that strong where you continue on with all these obvious political liabilities you expose you and your family to all this? It's like self inflicted pain and suffering!

Bosworth and Weiner should run off together and start their own Reality TV show.

In his pitch to raise money for a plane ticket to the Philippines, Prescott Haber says:

"My mom is a Doctor her name is Dr. Annette Bosworth. I don't know why she has a different last name something to do with being a Doctor."

I see she at some point dehyphenated her last name. No wonder Prescott is confused.

Lynn, you are scarily on target. The Bosworth-Habers have been trying to create a reality television show. They have hired a video production company to write and shoot a pilot on the adventures of Annette.

Reality television show or a cry for help? Or a case study on how not to run a campaign (for ANY office)?

This must be the Republican women's pathway to fame.

Sarah Palin had a reality show, and now I news reports that she will have another on some sporting channel.

if it works for Palin, why shouldn't it work for the doctor?

The day Chad Haber broached his political plans to me, as a friend and former student, I told him what I thought and warned him of these things. All I got for my efforts is the silent treatment and accusations I broke into his non-existant desk to leak non existent papers to Cory. At one time, he used to listen to his teachers.

A "running for office" political reality show would be interesting to a political junky like me. I would watch it. The upside of such a production would be that it should generate enough funds to pay her debts, even if it were canceled after a couple of episodes. But there's plenty of madcap craziness here to last a whole campaign season.

Not everybody who gets elected to congress is rich. I was told by one former member of congress that during his first campaign he had to borrow from Peter to pay Paul the whole way through. He had a family to feed, and campaigning was his job for that year. That was before the rules were changed to allow candidate's to draw a salary from their campaign committee. After winning he got collection calls for debts, and told the collectors to be patient till he got a paycheck. Dr. Bosworth isn't going to win, so a reality show is her best bet to fend off the collectors.

Would this reality show be on regular TV or just on those fancy satellites?

    Mr. Baumeister,
Obviously you discussed the Bosworth candidacy with Chad prior the raffle scandal, non-payment of taxes and other issues that put her political aspirations in serious question.

What advice did you give Haber/Bosworth that they choose to ignore?

  13. Dave Baumeister 2013.12.10

Roger, good question. Simple answer, essentially, "murder will out." He told me about this campaign last March. At that time, I was under the impression that PHS was actually something to help people. The raffle had been given to Fire Missions by that time and I was concentrating on Haiti. There were plans to build a school there, or so I believed. What I specifically warned Chad about was all of the baggage that a political campaign unearths. At that time, I was specifically referring to Annette's medical board problems, which, in March, seemed to have finally worked themselves out. BUT…I was also referring to other things that journalists have a way of ferreting out. I was a newspaper publisher and had followed and covered many elections. I did not feel the Haber family could stand that scrutiny, especially based on things Chad had told me over the past two years about how "people were out to get him." At that time, I believed the raffle had been a legit operation. Chad would have known what was an wasn't legitimate and could have applied my advice to those things he knew, but I didn't. Later, when it was obvious the non-profit was footing the bill for the campaign, I wrote my concerns to both off them and I talked to Annette (Chad was no longer speaking to me). And although I did not know about everything when I first talked to Chad, I since learned about Ponzi schemes in Utah, land foreclosures, unpaid taxes, that people from Custer are Custards, etc. When a person runs for office, every dirty deed he/she has ever done will become known.

    Thank you Dave,

That was very informative. Sorry that you were deceived by these people. What you are telling me is that the campaign is about generating income for themselves and not a commitment to public service.

Annette Bosworth reality show? There's an oxymoron for you.

...and says she's a really smart candidate. The baloney never ends.
