Ravnsborg Notary Inscrutable, Shoe Leather Gone!

In notary sealage, U.S. Senate candidate Jason Ravnsborg's nominating petition bears the following indecipherable signature certifying his declaration of candidacy:

Now don't get excited by the apparent absence of a seal. Brandon Johnson in the Secretary of State's office assures me there is an embossed seal on each page that just doesn't show up well on the scan. But who's that notary? Check out that signature: four arcing swoops... drunk Zorro?

Johnson further assures me that Jason's slash-signing notary is Wanda Howey-Fox. I find confirmation of Johnson's keen decipherage on some circulator lines, which show Ravnsborg's law partner Howey-Fox carried petitions for Ravnsborg (and had the good sense not to notarize her own circulation!):

There's her name, right next to that inscrutable signature:

I can see the H and F crashing into each other. I can even imagine the W mangled in the wreckage, like a bad transporter accident, or like modernity splashing out of Jackson Pollock chaos.

Such signatorial panache suggests a keen, creative mind. Perhaps Howey-Fox can help Ravnsborg figure out how we out-fox the four other Republicans in the race.

Ravnsborg doesn't need help figuring out how to outwork his opponents. Out of 140 petition sheets submitted Tuesday, Ravnsborg circulated 79. He filled all 20 lines of 73 of those sheets with voter signatures. His six other sheets included 24 more signatures, one of which the Secretary of State rejected.

1,484 signatures by one guy. Ravnsborg collected more than three quarters of the signatures he needed to make the ballot single-handedly. Ravnsborg is rotten on the radio, but he's all sweat and shoe leather on the street. Well done, Jason!

From my time in Yankton, I do know Jason to be a pretty decent guy.

    Very impressive! Well, done Jason.

What would make a high priced layer help collect signatures for a law partner she has made less than complimentary comments about?

Who could get the Hutterite colonies to turn out in support of Annette Bosworth? Who was that lawyer up in Aberdeen area that was part of Rounds' NBP scandal?
