Surrounded by Liberals: Corinna Robinson Barnstorms Brookings

The Madville Times starts the week with the Tea Party's Senate aspirant Gordon Howie; on Friday, we hang with great Democratic Congressional hope Corinna Robinson:

Robinson spoke to supporters in Brookings Friday. Among high points for voters, Robinson said the Keystone XL pipeline doesn't pass her risk analysis (environmental risk, a few temporary jobs, no ongoing benefit). She said she's pro-choice. And she said she plans to develop education as a significant plank of her campaign platform.

While she spent her evening hanging out with liberals like Toby and me, the conversation led to insights on how Robinson could and should reach out to conservatives, West River ranchers, and veterans who on meeting and grilling Robinson might find her sensible, get-the-job-done politics closer to their values than our current do-nothing, slow-on-the-uptake Congresswoman Kristi Noem. Go get 'em, Corinna!

This past week I was finally able to see a few videos of Corinna speaking about the challenges she had in her position working with all the government agencies including local DC lawn enforcement in protecting the Pentagon during the government shutdown last fall while still looking out for her employees that had bills to pay and everything else that was going on in their lives during this stressful time.

Corinna is another candidate that really impressed me. She seems very down to earth, really has the passion to represent the people of South Dakota and put them first above party and special interests. We only have one Representative so she has to represent everyone and not just a select few. Lastly I feel she has an incredible work ethic given what she has accomplished in her military career and afterwards. She will work her tail off for us in Washington.

Out of curiousity, does this Uecker belong in the front row with "BOB" from the Miller Lite commercials? "You're in the wrong seat,Buddy!"

You got that right Cory. Based on the way she is contacting people all over this State, I think she is setting herself up to be our next Congresswoman in DC.

Anybody stopped to think that if we do elect her, we will have elected our third woman in a row as our only US Representative in the House?

Unlike our current Congresswoman, who went to SDSU and got her degree while "supposedly" serving us in Congress, Ms Robinson is just finishing her Doctors degree, before she gets elected. From her Facebook page:

I sincerely appreciate fellow Colorado Technical University (CTU)doctoral candidates who continually inspire me as we near completion. The faculty, e.g., Drs. Tiffany Yates, Daphne DePorres, Nadav Morag, and Mike Hummel share a breadth of knowledge that help me on the campaign trail too ~ thank you! (4 photos)

Sorry the photo would not cut and paste.

Thanks for posting the you tube video of Corinna Robinson, Lynn. She sounds like a very accomplished and hard working, intelligent woman. You're right in that she portrays herself as very down to earth with an easy going, humble personality. She's what the SD dems need. Watch out, Kristi Noem.

Lynn, I am not sure who that guy is that interviewed her on that second video, but he is a real clown. She handled the question well and didn't embarrass him, but he said what about the healthcare bill, a lot of states are opting out of the medicare program. She alluded to the medicaid program in her response and that is the program he was talking about. The states have nothing to do with medicare.
