Rhoden Razzes Hubbel at Lyman-Brule GOP Dinner

I hear the emcees at GOP dinners around South Dakota frequently invoke the apocryphal "Reagan's 11th Commandment" to deter primary candidates from denigrating each other.

So does that include doing bunny ears to your fellow Republicans?

Bunny ears on Lora Hubbel?! Finally! Some dirt on Larry Rhoden!

But wait: Larry doesn't do bunny ears. Those are probably bull horns.

Rhoden could have gotten much more comedic punch putting those horns on one of his opponents in the GOP Senate primary. But Annette Bosworth was late (probably afraid to get too close to Attorney General Marty Jackley) and Marion Michael Rounds didn't show.

The man behind Rhoden should have put a large horn over the top of Rhoden's head.

    Unprofessional and a cad.

Rounds can't even make the Lincoln Day Dinner at the next county over? His arrogance is immense, is this how he will treat constituents if he is eventually elected to the US Senate?

Hey Mr Rhoden, this is just one more reason why you would not make a good US Senator. I have accused you of being Mike Rounds waterboy in the legislature for his programs and to defeat the bills which the ex governor wanted defeated. Is this the way leaders behave or do they do as you did in the legislature, follow the leader?

It's a little silly, yes. Is there another, more 'official' photo? I don't see that it really matters in any way. It's just silly. Shrug.

Yes, Deb, there is another real photo. I saw it on Pat Miller's FB I think. Clearly others weren't thinking the picture was being taken as more than half are not poised for a picture nor looking at the camera. I think it's funny but I also have a sense of humor beyond most. I think it shows that he's human and has a sense of humor which he definitely does. I don't want a robot in Congress. We have enough of those!

Looks pretty innocent but those that are nervous will find fault in it. Those are likely those that don't even know him.

And Cory, I'm not certain those are bunny ears. They actually look like air quotes to me or something that came after some commentary amongst those in the bottom right of the picture who all seem to be laughing. I guess I'd care if Lora seemed upset about it but I think she's got a good sense of humor as well. Thank God some of them can still laugh at this point!! They need a little comic relief that isn't actually coming from the actual candidates themselves!! Good for him (and those around him) to have some innocent fun in the midst of it all!!

Thanks TG. I agree with your assessment.

Didn't I see that bunch on that crime show America's Most Wanted?

Forget Rhoden the rabbit ears or air quotes or whatever they are are no big deal, the real question is why is Mike Rounds ducking these Republican Party events? Is he scared of Stace Nelson? Does he have better things to do, like maybe an out of state fundraiser? If you want to be the 9 million dollar man you can't afford to waste time in Oacoma.

I agree with Nick. Rhoden, Ravnsborg, and Bosworth are going no where fast. Moderate Rounds knows the real threat is standing short next to actual conservative Nelson. He is best served not even showing up at such small crowd events.

At the current pace of Rounds' hiding? If he is able to buy the primary? It ensures a Weiland victory in November. Respectable Republicans will not turn out for him, just as they did not for RINOs Romney or McCain.
