Bosworth Admits Breaking Law on Petitions, But Jackley and I Hate Women

Bosworth grafitti presser not evil 20140527Legal team, clean-up on Aisle 1....

Let's begin with the pretense that I'm not evil.

—Annette Bosworth, press conference, Sioux Falls, SD, 2014.05.27, timestamp 07:15.

On June 4, Attorney General Marty Jackley will feel free to indict fifth-place primary finisher Annette Bosworth on perjury and any other crimes that have come to his attention. In Bosworth's attempt to exploit the press furor over the Isla Vista shootings, the fake U.S. Senate candidate signaled the two prongs of her legal defense.

Bosworth grafitti presser brooding 20140527
...because campaign signs are much more effective spray-painted and tacked up in a dark office than placed out on the highway.

First, Bosworth apparently plans to say that Attorney General Jackley and reporter David Montgomery (yes, she attacks him from the mic, around 14:15) and anyone else who questions her are all misogynists. Bosworth has apparently been paying attention to Kathy Scott, the former Corinna Robinson campaign volunteer who blames me and my misogyny for her sloppy work.

For the record, the majority of sources who have helped me tell the story of the crime and corruption of Annette Bosworth and her husband Chad Haber are women. The two people taking Bosworth to court right now for unpaid wages are women. The person who told the press that Bosworth forced her family onto food stamps by not paying wages is a woman. In the Channette world where everything is a scam and everyone is out to get someone, it is more likely that AG Jackley and I are simply the weak-willed dupes of some persuasive Amazons out to destroy a fellow warrior princess.

Bosworth grafitti presser clueless 20140527
Don't be fooled by this paper. I'm making this up as I go along.

But this isn't the Channette world. Annette Bosworth is simply full of cowcrap. (I wouldn't want to say bullcrap, because that's probably patriarchal.)

The second legal defense gets more specific. Recall that the charges Bosworth and Haber will face most likely include perjury for signing a false oath. Bosworth and Haber submitted nominating petition sheets with their names at the bottom as circulators. Some of those sheets included signatures dated when Bosworth and Haber were in the Philippines.

Amidst great dancing to avoid answering direct questions from multiple reporters, Bosworth said sure, she was in the Philippines when the voters in question, including her sister, signed her petition back here in South Dakota. She says sure, she signed the circulator's oath "at the end of the campaign." She says her signature on the circulator's oath certified that she recognized her sister's signature. She says... well, see what she says in this exchange with reporter David Montgomery:

Bosworth: Did I know the people that signed the petition? Yes. Are they South Dakotans? Yes. Do they support me? Yes.

Montgomery: But you didn't directly circulate that petition?

Bosworth: Let's take the one of my sister, which sat there in my office. And she signed it. And I affirmed, thank you for signing my petition, that it was dated the night before they were due, that I signed that [Annette Bosworth press conference, Sioux Falls, SD, 2014.05.27, timestamp 10:27].

Bosworth grafitti presser mug 20140527
Nothing says "I'm your next Senator!" like standing in front naughty words with your hands full of mics and a mug.

Actually, as I review the petition sheets in question, I find that Annette signed one of them the night before they were due, March 24, but the circulator's oaths on the other sheets in question were signed on January 20, February 11, and March 25. In other words, Annette can't even keep her cowcrap straight, let alone the truth.

But more to the point is that, just as Annette isn't answering the reporters' questions, she answering the question of law. What does a circulator's oath affirm?

I, under oath, state that I circulated the above petition, that each signer personally signed this petition in my presence, and that either the signer or I added the printed name, the residence address of the signer, the date of signing, and the county of voter registration [emphasis mine; SDAR 05:02:08:00.03].

South Dakota law does not ask petition circulators to affirm that they know the signers. It does not ask them to affirm that the signers support them. It does not ask them to thank signers. South Dakota law requires that circulators walk around with those petitions in their hands and eyeball every single signer as he or she signs it.

The filthy words in front of which Bosworth posed today have nothing to do with the wording of the law. The law is clear. Bosworth and Haber broke the law. No manipulation of language or martyrish shouting of misogyny! will change that fact or stop the court from declaring them guilty... assuming AG Jackley gets around to bringing them to court.

Watch the full presser below, if you can bear it. The best part is the first 90 seconds, where we can't hear anything Bosworth is saying.

I thought 5th place was reserved for Ravnsborg already???

It is interesting how women like Dr. Bosworth insist they be treated as equals, but when that means having to meet the same standards as everyone else, they play this "damsel-in-distress" card.

She's no damsel, and her distress is her own doing.

  3. Jim 2014.05.27

These two alternate between lying and denial.

  4. Donald Pay 2014.05.27

I got through about 15 minutes of this. I couldn't take anymore.

She seems to expect special treatment because she's a conservative woman. Everyone who is circulating a petition receives information about how to legal do so. The rules are well-known. Asking for special treatment seems an odd thing coming from a conservative. I would think conservatives would be the first to see through this. She didn't skirted all the questions I saw, but she basically admitted to illegally signing the circulator affirmation.

When she mentioned Carole Hillard, I about retched. I knew Carole Hillard, as both a political ally and political adversary. She was an honorable lady, who always dealt with people honestly. She was also very generous, giving lots of money away to charity, but she didn't pat herself on the back for it. If Ms. Bosworth wants to identify herself with Carole, she better stop making excuses for her mistakes and start living life honestly.

  5. Rorschach 2014.05.27

HeckAnnette, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm sorry you feel picked on when people tell you to pay your bills and follow the laws. I'm sorry for the folks who bought raffle tickets and you pocketed the money. I'm sorry for people that worked for you and didn't get paid. Most of all I feel sorry for your kids that they will likely see their parents as criminal defendants, but will be told by you that it's just somebody else's fault and they're out to get you because your a woman and after their dad because he's married to you. I sure hope that others in the family will set them straight and give them role models to look up to. Do I also feel a bit sorry for you? Not one little bit. I look forward to seeing you held accountable for your actions.

"The pretense I'm not evil" is at about 7:15 into the presser.

  7. Barry smith 2014.05.27

Bosworth has had her "I am not a witch " moment. " I am not evil".

  8. Danno 2014.05.27

To quote Monty Python... "If we find a witch can we burn her"?

    (couldn't resist)...

  9. Deb Geelsdottir 2014.05.27

I watched it all. It was difficult.

It was difficult because I think Bos is Really Smart. But her mental illness plays havoc with her thinking. Nope, I am not absolving her of her responsibility for her actions and words. Not at all.

I have a big sister who's IQ is quite high. And she is mentally ill. She sees the world differently from the rest of the family. It all looks different to her. She's caused pain to those who love her through things she's said, accusations she's made against us. In other ways, my sis is very kind. She's 64 years old now, and has participated in counseling various times. I don't know what my sister's diagnosis is. I'd say her thinking is often delusional and that she believes the world is inherently unfair to her.

    Bos is like

R: Hey! That Sioux Falls paper edited the video! I think they cut off the chunk that had the bad audio. That messes up my time stamps. Grrr!

  12. Deb Geelsdottir 2014.05.27

Bos seems to be similar to my sister. My response to my sister is that of loss. What might she have become; what might she have contributed to the world; how might the history of my family be different, had she been well? It's a loss that I feel with deep sadness.

I see so many similarities between sis and Bos. Fortunately for my nephew, he has 5 aunts and uncles, plus loving grandparents, to help him survive and learn to thrive after growing up painfully. My deepest hope and prayer is that Chanette's children have similar resources and support. They deserve it.

  13. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.27

Oh, Barry! Let's memify that one. To the Twitters!

  14. Rorschach 2014.05.27

She's gonna take that set on the road for a one-woman dramatic performance after she's released from the institution for the criminally insane. She will be released eventually, right?

  15. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

Watching Bosworth is painful, every time she opens her mouth it becomes more evident that she is not in the real world.
While she bemoans the words that her children will read about her on the internet she does give them access. Name calling is a part of politics and if you can endure it builds your character. President Obama has been called every conceivable name there is and it continually makes him stronger.
Another of my campaign commandments is that you do involve your children. Successful candidates and politicians do not use their children in tv ads. Family only appears in the family orientated parts of the campaign, i.e. accepting a nomination.
It is horrible that Annette subjected her children to any kind of abuse. First by making them live in deplorable living conditions and then by not protecting them from the ugly side of politics.
She ignorantly blames liberals for this war on women, while blatantly ignoring the political facts that it is Republicans that want to control women's healthcare, fight equal pay for women, and a host of other issues.
Back to the name calling for a minute, which is politically correct, "Mike Rounds is a crook" or Annette Bosworth is a crook"?
Some on the blogsophere have gone too far in their criticism of Bosworth by using obscene language, I wish they wouldn't do that. There are plenty of issues that Bosworth creates and where we are justified in going after her, we needn't reduce ourselves to sexism.
Cory has zoomed in quite accurately on the important issue of the day, her perjury. I'm thinking that with each day closer to the election and losing the political immunity granted by Jason Gant, she is getting nervous, as she should be.

  16. Joe K 2014.05.27

Just when I thought this republican primary was already full blown crazy. This stunt just takes it over the top. When I was watching the video I was just waiting for her to go ballistic...

  17. Barry smith 2014.05.27

I no Tweeto - go for it my friend!

  18. CK 2014.05.27

A note to Dr. Bos, since she seems to be paying attention to blogs:
I will hold you accountable for your actions. I will hold you accountable for everything you say. That is the job of a responsible voter.
You call yourself a “daughter of the prairie.” Did you earn this title because you were born here? You speak loudly of your good works in other countries, claiming to be part of a non-profit that helps children of impoverished nations. You speak of “my South Dakota.” South Dakota has its own impoverished nation, which you seem to willingly ignore. If you were a true daughter of the prairie, you would reach out to those indigenous peoples, a large number of which receive food stamps and welfare. Or shall you compare them to wild animals too? Do you help them rise above the situation, supporting their cultures? Or should we ignore the impoverished of our own state, our own nation, simply because there is no glory in serving our fellow countrymen?
You complain that you are being denigrated in the media, because you are a woman. I don’t care if you are a man or a woman, but hold yourself accountable. Your actions, and the actions of your husband, are the reason why your son might read horrible things about you on the internet. You align yourself with extremist ideas, and you will be called an extremist, and vice-versa. I have never called you feminine derogatory terms, but you really should get a tougher skin if you want to be in politics. Perhaps you should also monitor your son’s activity on the internet.
I see a dishonest candidate who tries to pass the buck when she is held accountable. Hopefully the rest of SD will see that too, on June 3rd.
Save your crocodile tears and just hush now.

  19. El Rayo X 2014.05.27

During the first part of the press conference, before the sound came on, Annette spoke passionately about ending the East Coast/West Coast Rap War. Tupac and Biggie did not have to die in vain. She said we could all get along, drink 40's from brown paper bags and enjoy hip hop the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Once the sound got fixed, she started rambling on about a bunch of meaningless stuff. That's how I saw it, what a waste of bad graffiti.

    A few thoughts.

In no way do I intend on minimalizing the harm that she has done to others, the laws that have been broken and the justice that needs to be served. I think that she, her husband and her attourney are definitely using this "campaign" for monitary gain, and that definitely needs to be addressed.

    But...

Given her documented diagnoses of narcissistic and other personality disorders, we need to keep in mind that everything she does is to achive one goal, and that is to get attention. These patients crave attention in any way possible, be it good or bad attention. One of the things that happen with these patients is that they generate intense hatred from many people, and they enjoy this as it generates more attention towards them. Right now, with this campaign, Annette is feasting at the all you can eat buffet of attention, and this is only going to escilate.

As hard as it is to look away from this ever worsening train wreck, the only way that she will be quieted down is for all of us including the media to ignore her and stop listening to her. Hopefully, justice will eventually be served through proper channels (doubtful, unfortunately) and we won't have to keep being subjected to this.

Hey Dr Bosworth, Maybe you need to check out this website. You think libs are the only ones who go after women. There has been plenty of bragging about how beautiful some of the Republican women are compared to the Dems with pictures showing the Dem women in their worst light. You can go down further on the list of pictures and see the 22 Republican Senators who voted against the Violence Against Women Act, including our own Senator John Thune and the Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Dr. Bosworth where exactly has Cory or David Montgomery lied? All they did was report the wrong doing that you and your husband have done.
Of all the women you mentions I've heard not one of them say what you are saying. Maybe I'm wrong and if so show me where that has happened. I don't remember even Kristi Noem whine like this.
You keep talking about God but you want to take insurance from people, you want to take food away from children and you don't acknowledge that there is a Republican war on women. I bet God would say shame on you Annette.
Finally you talk about being disrespected. Repect is something you earn and just because there is a Dr. in front of your name doesn't mean you automatically gain respect.
You haven't earned my respect Annette and never will.

  39. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

    CK,
Your comments @16:32 are deserving of a response. As Dr. Bosworth boasts about helping the impoverished in foreign countries is a noble deed.
There are poor people here in South Dakota, the homeless shelters are full of them, vets not getting the medical care they deserve, and many on our states reservations.
A friend of mine that once worked for Bosworth tells me that she refused to travel to reservations to render aid. Which would explain her "dead Indian" comment and her refusal to even acknowledge the OLC invitation to debate at Kyle last week

  40. JeniW 2014.05.27

    Thank you Lanny.

That video does not have captioning either.

Videos without captioning are useless to those of us who are hard of hearing or deaf.

Very interesting. Incredibly enjoyable. Insaner than most.

I've watched it twice so far.

  42. Steve W 2014.05.27

Cory, you've buried the lead. "That Sioux Falls paper" seemed to get it right, with a headline about a chaotic press conference. Forget the legal stuff for a minute. Actual issues are secondary to the conduct here. Who paints those words on a wall, and then stands in front of it, with a pack of reporters looking on?

  43. Vickie 2014.05.27

I'm so glad that I read all of the comments instead of watching her latest video.

The fact remains that, while she may be quite intelligent and have psychological issues, her downfall is her and Chad's own doing. They are up to their eyeballs in bovine fecal matter with no way to get out. They have no defense for their actions. I believe that they do know the difference between right and wrong...they just chose to do wrong and ran with it all the while playing the victims. Ugg!

  44. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.27

Does anyone on here know the Dr from before she met Haber. I have talked to a person that I consider a pretty reliable source, who said that Mr Haber was pretty full of himself many years ago already.

  45. grainofsalt 2014.05.27

She did say that when Walker types in her name in Google all these profane words come up, right? Why doesn't that work when I tried it. Multiple times. What's wrong with my computer? Am I doing it wrong?

  46. concerned 2014.05.27

Lanny I spent a lot of time in the Haber house during college. I was friends with Chad's sister....I can tell you Annette was a bit annoying (unbridled energy and constant positive attitude), but I never thought she would end up like this. Chad on the other hand...Let's just say I'm not surprised. I think the fork in the road was Chad---and sadly it was the wrong path, and now she is right along side digging her own ditch.

  47. CD 2014.05.27

This video was difficult to watch. I think she believes what she's saying, which is even more disturbing. I did notice her lip twitching which demonstrates a stress level I saw with her before. Victimization leads to entitlement of payback and she is fulfilling that right in front of everyone.

  48. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.27

Thanks concerned. I just went to the site for the fourth time to finally be able to get through to the end. (No I am not like grudz, watching the whole thing twice, are you a mysogynist or a voyer grudz?)

I also went to her Facebook page and googled as grainofsalt suggested and found nothing either, other than tons of support from around the nation. I think that is what this is about. Raising more money for her campaign, which will probably be over a week from today. If there is money left, can she keep it to pay her other bills?

  49. grudznick 2014.05.27

Mr. Stricherz, I have watched it thrice now. Fascinating.

I don't know what those words mean. Are they like the words painted on the young Dr. Bos's walls?

  50. concerned 2014.05.27

The only friend/Family member that I know of who is still supporting this fiasco is Peggy--Annette's sister, and I guess maybe her parents? You have to wonder how much of that is just to still have contact with the children. Chad's family is silent and his brother-in-law had to sue them. I don't know of one person from our college days that has anything to do with the two of them anymore.

  51. CD 2014.05.27

It is my hope that Peggy stays out of the spot light and is mostly left alone. She had been a calming factor for the Haber boys.

  52. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.27

Grain, you probably need to type all those naughty words in with it. I dread picturing her child doing that. I prefer to believe the introduction was another fabrication, a convenient lie, a use of her child as a literary device.

For the record, I stand by every word I have used to describe Annette Bosworth and her husband Chad Haber in this blog. I stand open to rationale critique from any sensitive observer, but I reject any suggestion that my language about Bosworth and her campaign has been deliberately misogynist.

And for the record, in my interactions with Annette, Annette has been the only one to (1) lie and (2) use the f-word.

  53. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.27

As I wade through the "insults" Bosworth's campaign staff painted on her otherwise useless signs, I notice "pro-choice". I take offense at the idea that "pro-choice" is a misogynist insult.

    Hmmmm...."pussy"?

Actually, calling a man a pussy (or twat) is probably more of an insult to a man that calling a woman a cunt. Personally, I prefer "flaming hemorrhoid on the internet's ass". That's an all-purpose, unisex insult with some pizzazz.

  63. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.27

grudz, somehow you have forgotten that Senator Thune term limited himself before he ran. Or doesn't that promise count after one has served two terms?

  64. Deb Geelsdottir 2014.05.27

Bos is indeed responsible for everything she does and says. Chanette is responsible for how this mess affects their financials, standard of living, reputations, personal and professional relationships, and above all, their children.

It's a shame. It's always a shame when an individual's mental illness makes them less able to contribute to society. There is help for such conditions in a variety of forms. Bos could be contributing in a positive way. At this time, she has apparently chosen not to seek help.

  65. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

    Deb,
I still contend that Bosworth is criminally insane.

  66. grainofsalt 2014.05.27

Cory, OK, I researched how to pull up insulting words along with Moms name (using psycho and c***) I typed in Annette Bosworth + insulting word. You're right, little Walker would have to do the same, type his moms name, then the nasty word to get the result she said he gets by just typing her name into google. To really find out the entire quote he'd have to go to the blog or wherever and read them there.

  67. grainofsalt 2014.05.27

Here's what she should have said about the petition question. Yes, I was in the Philippines during the time those 37 signitures were gathered on the petitions that listed me as the circulator. I shouldn't have done that, obviously, as everyone knows a person can't be in two places at once and to try to skirt around the issue and deny it would be crazy, and I don't want anyone thinking that I'm crazy, or... or... or... evil. No definitely not evil. Bwahahahaha.

The timing of their announcement for the press conference came right on there heals of the shootings in Santa Barbara. As soon as they heard about it, Chad must have been scheming "Hey, we can we use this!" It is obvious they are trying to get the votes of all women in the election. But in my experience with them, women might seemed to be more mesmerized by the doctor at first, but they are the first ones to figure her out. Just sitting here I can think of a dozen very powerful women who detest her. I wonder if trying to pander to women was a trick they learned from Bill Janklow? (Chad told me that BJ, "taught him everything there is to know about winning an election in South Dakota.") But back to why I believe she and her husband did this, it is unconscionable to think of them using the tragedy ion California to advance a political career.

You may be right Roger. I don't know. I'm not attempting to offer a conclusive diagnosis of her. I'm not trying to hint at anything more than I'm saying.

My clients are mentally ill people. Their illnesses vary, and no two people with the same diagnosis exhibit identical behaviors. I view each of them as tragic. Who knows how their lives might have evolved or what they might have contributed to the world had they not become ill. No one chooses a mental illness or gives one to ones self.

All that being said, few mental illnesses so completely incapacitate the mind to such an extent that one is not responsible for one's actions.

Keep in mind that, while I have several years of experience, including numerous training opportunities, I am definitely not a mental health professional. I'm offering my observations and opinions.

Sorry for the double comment. Cory, would you delete the first one? Thanks.

  72. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

Holy Wow, if it is attention that Bosworth was seeking today she got it. National attention.

Powers over the Rounds blog is reporting that both Politico and the Washington Post are reporting on Bosworth's recent escapade.

The media is amazing, we have been treating this as more of Annette's tomfoolery and the media is taking her seriously.

  73. Been There 2014.05.27

    Concerned-
Peggy has a calming affect just as chanette do on those boys. And just like chanette, she is in this up to hear ears. She has been with them for a loooong time. If there are employees leaving constantly and telling of the wrong doings, you can be sure that Peggy knows all about it. She is her sister and she works for/with them, she knows. She will/should end up in jail too. She is not innocent in this at all.

  74. rick 2014.05.27

Ouch! Thanks, concerned, for posting this rant running down Keloland. They look, sound and act dangerous, and this is Annette Bosworth's support base? No wonder everything coming out of her mouth sounds crazy. It's crazy surrounded by more crazy.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but aren't elections all about addition, and not alienating people with your stupid rage? If you didn't see it from the post above, here it is again:

Had to watch the tape again.
    Enthralling, isn't it?

  76. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.27

Ryan Gaddy claims in that anti-KELO video there was "a ton of people" in the room, "packed wall to wall" during the press conference. Is that true?

  77. Deb Geelsdottir 2014.05.27

    Those people in the video are, well, . . . . . . . . . . . . odd.
(I'm in a generous mood tonight.)

  78. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.27

Amusingly, Ryan Gaddy says he was protesting against the media today. Yet this event was all about decrying the mean language that Annette says clutters up the social media that her son goes Googling unsupervised.

  79. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

    rick,

That was a strange tape, almost live a manifesto.
Oddly, I didn't know that prohibition was a campaign issue this year.
Awhile back on Madville several of us tried to get Ryan Gaddy to tell us if Bosworth was pro legalization of pot and he refused to tell us. The most he would do was act like he knew the answer
When I check her memes on Facebook, there is not a mention of pot, medical or otherwise.

  80. grudznick 2014.05.27

    Rhoden laughing.
    Rhoden laughing.

  81. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.27

I watched the rant as well Rick. Those were my exact sentiments. Crazy is as crazy does.

Roger, you wrote, "The media is amazing, we have been treating this as more of Annette's tomfoolery and the media is taking her seriously."

That has been my take as I read the posts on her Facebook page and some others from other sites, I get the impression that folks from around the country are giving her a "you go girl". If it includes monetary contributions as well, I am pretty sure that is what today's episode was all about. She has a week left to fatten the kitty and maybe she had a deal with that fundraising outfit, that she gets to keep more of the money during this last surge of the campaign.

  82. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.27

    grudz,
Who is this Rhoden guy, anyway?

  83. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.27

grudz snickering grudz snickering, but Rhoden won't be very happy when he finds out that the head of Rhoden's Rangers watched the Boz video, (probably panting and drewling) at least 4 times. Kind of ruins the image of the cleanliness of Rhoden's Rangers.

  84. grainofsalt 2014.05.28

I watched some of the Prohibition guys videos, and one of them showed a debate with the Republican candidates (minus Rounds) at a church, I believe. The medical marijuana question was asked. Bosworth was against it.

  85. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.28

If this circus act is attempting to get marijuana legal in South Dakota they are sure going about it the wrong way. Looks and sounds like they are getting ready to declare war.

A pretty dis"joint"ed press conference, if that is what you want to call it.

  86. Jon 2014.05.28

So she does have signs! The woman is clearly trembling in fear. I'm not quite sure what to think. She obviously has her plate too full. She dodged all the real questions and talked down to those that dare ask a fair question and then turned them into something it wasn't. We aren't being mean when we say she needs help. Clearly she does need help. And I honestly hope she gets the help she needs. The audacity of the press to ask real questions!

  87. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

So being angry about being lied to by keloland is improper?

  88. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

If national media find the issues discussed as relevant. . Why are we still fixated on a "fake candidate"? A "fake" "non-threat" should be dismissed and forgotten right? So Madville, throw her away as the "trash" she has been dubbed by this blog ;)

  89. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

This parade of Annette Bosworth stories just distract people from the true "Goodfellas" Mikey and Dauggy

  90. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

This blog is a full blown RAGE BONER. . . Not to be insulting Cory(you are very fixated on a minor threat to the safety of South Dakota) after all. . . She is a "fake candidate" that "will not win" . . . Why all the wasted energy on a non issue person?

  91. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

Only when you show up, Ryan. You overstate the rage... and wouldn't "boner" be somehow misogynist, or misandrist, or... well, just plain vulgar?

"Not to be insulting..." Oh, but you are being insulting, so drop the pretense. Ryan, I think it is improper to be angry about me and my coverage, and you include the name of this blog in your rant, which really undermines the logical point you claim to be making about the superiority of social media to traditional media.

You are correct: Bosworth is a fake candidate and a non-factor in the results Tuesday. But she has also committed fraud, perjury, and other ills against the electoral process and the community. I'm busy trying to expose her crimes. You're busy working for her. Hmm... rage, anyone?

By the way, how much did she pay you guys for your work? (Note that either she needs to report her payment to you on her public Q2 FEC filing, or she must report your "donated" labor as an in-kind donation.)

  92. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

And if she's a distraction, then why did you participate? Any message you think you are sending gets lost her personal drama.

  93. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

Not my issue. I was paid $100. . . And I will claim my income on my next tax return. Its not my issue to play IRS. You have done a wonderful job exposing her. Now its uo to Marty to hose her. I didnt break any laws. Im a "hired hand" as a day laborer. Im not on a regular payroll and still maintian my ability to freelance with any candidate willing to pay for my noisemaking skills.

  94. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

I participated to gain money, does it matter what happens after that if she is already damned? Nope. . . But I got some young voters onboard for SDAP, and got national coverage for "hooligan" art. . . I support anyone that isnt Rounds or Daugaard. . . Personal grudges others hold with team Bosworth do not involve me.

  95. Dave Baumeister 2014.05.28

After listening to part of the press conference again, I noticed two things regarding the 10-year-old boy wearing the same shirt: 1. She says he was called "hobo;" how many other 10-year-olds around here use the word "hobo"? "Yep, I'll bet yer wearing' that shirt cuz you've been ridin' the rails for the past 10 days…."; and 2. I worked for Bozworth for the entire time she lived in the borrowed RV (in fact, I helped her move into the apartment she is now in), and her boys came to the office EVERY DAY after school, and I never saw any of them wearing the same clothed for 10 days straight. I may have overlooked such a wardrobe faux pax a couple of times, but I'm a teacher, I am trained to notice things like kids wearing the same clothes for extended periods. Twice, I offered her the basement apartment in my house, and several more times I offered her the use of my laundry facilities, so if her kids were wearing the the same clothes (which they weren't), it was solely being done by her choice. BUT ON ANOTHER INTERESTING (COINCIDENTAL????) NOTE… I interviewed here one time about her work in Haiti and she told me a story, in almost the same cracking-voice she used for the press today, about a little girl who came in day after day always wearing the same shirt. I think this is a story that works for her, so she runs with it as often as she can, only, the names and characters change to fit the situation.

  96. Bree S. 2014.05.28

This Senate race is beyond ridiculous.

  97. Joe K 2014.05.28

Gaddy, you were paid $100 bucks for this? Funny, she called you guys her volunteers...

And, in that little room - I bet you were sucking some pretty serious paint fumes... I see the blue mask on your head in one of her photos, but doubt that stopped all of the nasty chemicals from being inhaled. Poor choice for a doctor to subject you guys to those conditions.

  98. beefplant kimchi 2014.05.28

What's sad is that the land of the great George McGovern....has sunk this low. Electing empty suits, being afraid of controversy, an utter lack of courage..AT least this crazy right wing Dr has a semblance of courage..and pizzaz. But..She does make politics fun! And nobody will pay attention after she's gone. Where is the democrat version of her? I dare say this is more indicative ( pun intended-must be 18 or older to read between the lines) of South Dakota voters today than McGovern, or Daschle..or even..gulp Richard Kniep..

  99. CK 2014.05.28

Joe, you're correct in assuming that the little N95 mask that Gaddy is wearing is not sufficient to protect him or the other participants from the spray paint fumes, even if it did have a fancy breathing valve. Those are best used in the healthcare industry and with minor dust.

It might have been okay out in the open air with a bit of a breeze, but in those conditions, a respirator mask with the proper particulate filter was necessary.

  100. Lanny V Stricherz Post author | 2014.05.28

Whoops. Sorry JeniW. I missed what you were saying about captioning. Thanks for pointing out my mistake, I will be more respectful in reading another person's total meaning in the future, because of your post. Thank you.

  101. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

Beef, Democrats should be appalled if they ever field a version of Bosworth. Remember that Bosworth was the Democratic version of herself when she first began to pursue Chad's reality-TV dream of running for Senate and sought Steve Hildebrand's tutelage. Then she and Chad decided it would be easier to make money off conservative Christians. Bosworth displays neither courage nor principle. She adds no value to the political culture or discourse; she only degrades it. Spray paint that on your campaign signs.

  102. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

I didn't say you broke any laws. I'm establishing that Annette lied to us again by calling you "volunteers."

"national coverage for hooligan art"? Um, why am I not impressed? (a) We get that every time the network news does a background shot of some inner-city wall or a train rolling by. (b) put your quote marks around "art", not hooligan. (c) The exhibit was less about the art and more about the candidate who thinks its a good idea to allow stills to be taken of herself standing next the phrase "racist b---h" and who thinks the best use of her campaign signs is to grafitti them and hide them in a vacant office rather than finding supporters to put those signs up clean along the roads.

But hey: I guess the real message from Gaddy here is that the only people willing to do things for Annette are people who (a) get paid up front and (b) are only using her to promote their own agendas and don't care about her own pretended message.

Plus, not Bosworth's complete cluelessness about the Anarchy symbol Gaddy's crew painted into her name. I don't think anyone understood the true symbolism there: Annette's home, her business, campaign, and mind really are anarchic, without plan. But she didn't recognize that, hadn't reviewed Gaddy's work, hadn't even thought about the inappropriate anarchy symbol until a reporter asked about the meaning of that symbol, and she could only punt with her nutty statement about letting the symbol speak for itself.

  103. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

And I'm not talking about a personal grudge with Bosworth, Ryan. I'm talking about real lies and crimes.

  104. CK 2014.05.28

What I find so ironic about this presser, and her claiming that she is being treated unfairly and in a sexist manner...is that she was quotes on KELO as saying "I'll take the heat."

If you Google those bad words and her name, the main reference point is her we flare/don't feed the animals meme.

Take the heat, Annette, or move on.

  105. CK 2014.05.28

So sorry about the typos. Stupid mobile autocorrect!

  106. Mark 2014.05.28

I think it's time for this "candidate" to start raising money for her legal defense fund.

  107. Rorschach 2014.05.28

Has she filmed herself protesting in front of Planned Parenthood yet? She has under a week left to do that.

  108. PlanningStudent 2014.05.28

You all are too funny... One of your own, Steve Hildebrand has outed Boz multiple times for being a liberal pretending to be bad / comical / extreme representation of a conservative. Much like Steven Colbert. Of course even this blog and CAH call her the 'fake' us senate candidate.

You don't need to get all riled up about her saying liberals are responsible for vile things being said.

She is a liberal, she's just trying to get attention.

  109. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

No, Planning, she's not really a liberal. She has no ideology other than self.

  110. PlanningStudent 2014.05.28

I'll by that, either way folks don't need to go huffn' and puffn' with their panties in a bunch about anything she says, ever. Especially about blaming liberals..

  111. David Newquist 2014.05.28

This performance of Bosworth's is a replication of those factors which made Sanford Health require that she seek mental help and which was described by the assistant attorney general in the hearing before the Medical Board regarding her license to practice. As the lawyer for the state said, she has harmed people. In this macabre stage stunt, she furthers that harm by claiming the people she didn't pay did not do their jobs (which seemed to participating in her quackery). The salient question regarding Bosworth is why, in her state of mind, she has the license to practice medicine. She seems not to have met the stipulations regarding her right to practice.

Deb Geelsdottir has the most accurate reading of her. Her verbal expressions of psychosis have the same patterns of distorted perceptions and warped senses of persecution and self-justification as the manifesto of the

  112. David Newquist 2014.05.28

Santa Barbara. Those who are supposed to monitor public safety and the well-being of society do not have the knowledge or the tools to deal intelligently and humanely with those who have descended to such states of dysfunction.

  113. David Newquist 2014.05.28

Santa Barbara shooter. This laptop is as erratic in performance as Bosworth.

  114. Lanny V Stricherz 2014.05.28

I knew what you meant David, and that is a great point. How close is the Dr to a point where she could harm herself, her family, her patients or society even more than she already has?

  115. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

Exactly, David: she's broadcasting these obscene words under the pretense of critiquing them, just as she marched through the Sanford lobby exposing her bra under the pretense of protesting someone's oppression, when really in both cases she was just engaged in exhibitionism. Like the Santa Barbara shooter, she co-opts memes to excuse her own violence. Frightening.

  116. Douglas Wiken 2014.05.28

Bosworth is the indicator of the potential full descent of the GOP/TEA Party into a wilderness howling for 40 years. Her nonsense, self-interest, egotism, is the nth degree of all the GOP candidates at their illogical full-bore mythology and insanity.

  117. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.28

Ryan Gaddy proved an excellent point, it has been said people will do anything, including prostituting themselves, to get money for drugs or marijuana, how much weed can you get for $100 in Sioux Falls?

  118. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.28

Hey, when Bosworth asked her "employees" during the press conference if they've all gotten paid, was she referring only to the paid sign painters? Or was she speaking to other staffers from the campaign or perhaps from the clinic in the room? Who exactly was there for Bosworth besides the press?

  119. mike from iowa 2014.05.28

No cleaverage and no taters and gravy. What kind of a presser could it be w/o genuine boobage and good eats?

  120. Ryan Gaddy 2014.05.28

Rodger. . . About 5 grams. . . I bought gas for my car, food for my fridge, a pack of menthol cigs and still have about $50 left. No . . . I dont do drugs. . . . Smh

  121. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.28

    Rian,
So how long will 5 grams keep you high?

  122. grudznick 2014.05.28

    Mike you got that right.

It was a disappointing press videotape.

  123. grainofsalt 2014.05.29

Ryan Gaddy, You wondered why we pay attention to Bosworth since she isn't going to win the election. Why are we trying to bring her down? The answer is this: Because she and her husband are criminals who steal money from innocent people, and they will continue to do so unless they are stopped.

  124. WestRiver 2014.05.29

    Ryan Gaddy

I will pay you double what Boz paid you to spray paint the truth about Boz on signs and stand on Minnesota Ave and hold them up, cause the truth isn't that others have called her those names in SD. If double isn't enough, you let me know.

  125. caheidelberger Post author | 2014.05.29

Ryan Gaddy, West is serious. I can hook you two up. Bring your taggers.

  126. grainofsalt 2014.05.29

LeeAnn Batiz got the most unfair treatment of all in Bosworths rant. I could have vomited when Bosworth was giving her sickening sweet talk about how she was only helping her and she would "do it all again" Lol My bet is that knowing what Batiz knows now she wouldn't want her "help" ever, ever again. Note that Bosworth did say, that on the letter of recommendation she focused on "those aspects I think are your best attributes" I read Batiz's recommendation letter. With those attributes, any employer would have been nuts to let her go. (Yes, I am saying Bosworth is nuts. I also realize Bosworth had no option, because Batiz quit)

  127. larry kurtz 2014.05.29

Boz was just on Bill Janklow's idea of public radio: she deserves every dime the Rounds campaign is paying her.

  128. grainofsalt 2014.05.29

WestRiver, May I suggest that one of the things you have Gaddy spraypaint on a sign is the fact that Bosworth is AGAINST legalizing MEDICAL marijuana! I think there's quite a bit of support for the medical use of marijuana in SD. (Bosworth stated she was against it at a debate on a video of Gaddy's)

  129. WestRiver 2014.05.30

Come on Gaddy, where are you? We only have 3 days left to do this!! I welcome any suggestions for words to use to describe Annette Bosworth but they must ALL be true!! If Gaddy doesn't answer me, well, then, I will have to find some more talented folks. Don't worry Cory, we will video tape it!

  130. Roger Cornelius 2014.05.30

    West River,

Maybe you can message Ryan on Facebook!
He shouldn't have any reason not to jump at your generous offer.

  131. LeAnn Batiz 2014.05.30

grainofsalt: Thank you for your kind words. Hindsight is 20/20 and knowing what I know now if I had to do it all over again I definitely would never work for her again. I curse the day I met Annette Bosworth and Chad Haber. As far as my reference letter goes, I knew if I didn't show it when I was on TV that she would say she fired me/didn't pay me because I wasn't a good employee (wow! it happened anyway!) but, truthfully, I would never show a future employer that reference letter. Do you want to know why? Because the medical community frowns on Dr. Bosworth and it would be detrimental for me to let them know. Unfortunately, a lot of them saw the broadcast; but, at least now, they know I feel the same way they do.
