Blake Makes Eagle Butte Powwow, Boston Bash at State Fair in One Day

Want a lieutenant governor with hustle? Vote for Susy Blake (and that Susan gal who's running with her)!

Around 2:30 p.m. CDT today, Blake posted this status and photo on Facebook:

"Having an amazing time and meeting wonderful people at the Eagle Butte Powwow!"

About six hours later, Blake posted this status and photo:

Susy Blake: "Rock'n to Boston!" FB photo, South Dakota State Fair, 2014.08.31

From powwow in Eagle Butte to grandstand rock in Huron in one day—Susy Blake may be the hard-charging South Dakota mom everyone can love. And I have more than a feeling that Blake keeps up this schedule on corndog power! We're ready, Susy! Don't look back! Keep on campaigning!

Ever notice that Democrats don't criticize Native Americans and aren't afraid to hang out with them?

Now that I've seen photo #2 of Ms. Blake, I'm concluding that casual dress is who she is. I like her congruence.

    Deb,
Thank God she wasn't wearing a tan suit, she would have been in serious trouble.

Spot on Roger, the tan outfit would have bought out the fashion police in short order. Leading the pack would be the always natty, Dennis Daugaard, arrogant and ready to sell out the state of South Dakota if the price is right. Eb-5, 6 or whatever, Mr. Impeccable is always ready to cut a deal with taxpayer moolah. And why not, he had a very good teacher from another snappy dresser, insurance agent Mike Rounds. The duo that just keeps sucking the sap out of the state. It is time to prune that tree and let voters send it to the chipper. I think the tree is infected with the corruption of some foreign investor beetles that leave red ink instead of a blue stain.

Roger and Jerry. 2 clever, witty and honorable people.

Deb, that is who Susy is. She does not pretend to be what she is not. She is a survivor in the very real sense.

When you are a survivor, you quickly learn what is important, and what is not as important, and what is not important.

  7. Deb Geelsdottir 2014.08.31

JeniW, do you know Ms. Blake personally? What has she survived? If that's none of my business, I'm fine with that.

BTW, I have a strong feeling that several survivors comment here.

Susy had breast cancer. She went through the whole treatment. That is why she did not campaign to be re-elected as a state legislator. She needed time to recover and restore her physical strength.

She has for as long as I have known her never to pretend to be who she is not. What you see, is what you get with Susy.

She is wearing a Brookings County Democrats' t-shirt we gave her when she spoke at our picnic.

Yay for flying those Brookings Dem colors!

JeniW, with a campaign schedule like this, she seems to have recovered her strength in full.

    Indeed, and thankfully she has.
