Last weekend I told you about RickStock, the big August 16 musical fundraiser for U.S. Senate candidate Rick Weiland. Now RickStock has its own Facebook page and a splendiferous poster urging us to pile into Piedmont:

I'm settled down some now thanks to four onces of single malt. NO I could never write for a paper. I dont just lack journalistic integrity, I dont have any. I say what I think, no matter what, and have no problem telling the truth when a lie would do.
I have stepped on a few toes in the last twenty years because of my views on women's reproductive rights, the way that most of the state treats gays, and the continued hammering of those people that are doing the actual work.
It doesnt make sense that some of these people work two and sometimes three jobs and "STILL" live in poverty.
It doesnt make sense that 8% of our state lives where there is 80% unemployment while those in charge of economic development continue to push for jobs in only two places, the I29 corodor, and along I90.
It doesn't make sense that the state treats people on our reservations like rented mules while at the same time giving banks and insurance companies what is in effect, "their own offshore account in the middle of the country."
Belinda and I dont live in South Dakota anymore, and believe it or not, the reasons I listed were not the reasons for leaving.
We would not have been able to even attempt the project that we are doing here back in SD. See we had a green energy dream. Moving saved us over 30% on our little green resort. That aint chicken feed. Oh sure the legislature talks about allternative energy. Talk isn't cheap, the longer people wait to start learning about green the more improbable the chances are they will. It's not their fault, it's just our nature.
Before some of you go there, all my money is still in South Dakota, I have three grandbabies there, and a little pieceof land. I love the people that live there, and the work ethics of those that have jobs. It was the state itself that forced us to leave. Like they say, "money talks and bullshit walks." Evidently I didnt have the money required to buy the boots that would have allowed me to walk through the bullshit. Life goes on.
Now I'm going to get people mad again. The state of South Dakota is like a dirty tampon, isn't it time that the voters just pulled the string and got rid of the mess?

Bill, with his graphic skills, creates a sticker available when we enter the party. It says something like "Another Madizen for Rick". Or something much more clever and witty. We slap it on and it serves several purposes - A little advertising for the Times, a little campaign encouragement for Rick, and Madizens get to meet one another. Who knows? Maybe the Madville Times will become a political force!
