Lowe Says Proven Leadership Makes Weiland Right Man for Senate

While old cronies and loons like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum slouch into our state to save Mike Rounds's floundering campaign, Rick Weiland gets the endorsement of a straight-up South Dakotan, former gubernatorial candidate and state fire chief Joe Lowe:

It's about Leadership and People—Rick Weiland gets it

I get so tired during a campaign about people claiming that they are proven leaders. Many candidates have been good managers. Leaders deal with people. Managers deal with things. Leadership and management are different,

I form my opinions on leadership from my 36-year career with the fire service, being part of a leadership program associated with Chapman College, and leading a national incident management team that responded to Incidents of national significance.

Rick Weiland is about people and is a proven leader. It is big responsibility to be the Region 8 FEMA Director. He had to work with governors and people when disaster struck. Rick had to bring people together during the recovery efforts on large and destructive incidents. He had to insure continuity of government was restored, community infrastructure was restored and get disaster funds to the people whose homes were destroyed.

Leaders deal with people. They create a vision of the future. They see things as they ought to be and not as they are, They motivate and inspire people. In addition, they coach and build teams.

Rick gets it. Get out and help him win this race. It is a close one [Joe Lowe, Facebook post, 2014.10.15].

Joe Lowe worked for Mike Rounds. He knows the leadership abilities of our former Governor. And Lowe says Weiland can better motivate, inspire, and build teams than Lowe's old boss.

The one thing we know for sure is that Mike Rounds is either a corrupt politician or he lacks leadership skills as demonstrated by his handling of EB-5. My opinion is that he is both.
By the way, the Republican City Journal in Rapid City didn't publish Joe's letter to the editor regarding racist Betty Olson.

Thanks, Joe. Your endorsement for Rick W -- based on your experience in state government -- carries much weight .

Wow...They are bashing Weiland on Facebook, as if Pressler is a safe alternative to Rounds. Can't anyone take a little negative campaigning? That's why you pick the wrong guy, because a PAC put up a negative ad bashing him?

People are too tender-hearted. Suck it up, I remember Pressler's performance in Washington all too well.

Joe Lowe was a crony from the Get Gowe. He's just a disgruntled young man now. He couldn't even beat Ms. Wismer who is widely mocked in the legislatures. Mr. Pressler is starting to seem a reasonable alternative to many.

Wow... What a Senate race we have. We have Larry Pressler, an old has been that we threw out 18 years ago, and Weiland a Democrat that cannot gain full support from his own party and a compulsive liar in Rounds that just might have just enough support to win. This is sad as we have the chance to elect one of the 100 most powerful people in America. Wake up people and think about what is going on here. There is only one candidate here that can that fits our needs. Forget about your party and support Weiland.

Greg, that is true. Rick is running against three Republicans, we cannot forget that.
When Democrats go into the polling booth, they won't have to hold their noses.

Three Republicans, one Democrat: good point, Greg. Dems, unite!
