In the throes of belittling Susan Wismer, journalist Bob Mercer coughs up this nugget about Governor Dennis Daugaard's political intentions... or lack thereof! Mercer reports that Daugaard is putting his campaign on cruise control and calling it quits after his second term:
Daugaard didn’t plan to do any campaigning during his last week before the election and intended to travel on the final Sunday and Monday with former Gov. Mike Rounds, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. Daugaard was Rounds’ lieutenant governor for eight years.
...Daugaard would use any leftover money for political purposes and office-related expenses such as travel during the next four years if re-elected, according to his spokesman, Tony Venhuizen.
“He doesn’t want to run again (for another office) and doesn’t want to fund-raise in a second term,” Venhuizen said [Bob Mercer, "History-Making Ticket Fading in Governor's Race," Rapid City Journal, 2014.11.02].
Did you catch that, Republican aspirants? If you're looking to run for Congress in 2018 or to challenge Senator Weiland in 2020, Dennis Daugaard will not stand in your way. Young bucks, rev those engines!

I hope there is enough evidence to put both he and Mike Rounds in prison. They have sold our tiny (in terms of population) state to the highest bidder at every turn and wasted a lot of our tax money and our state employees working hours doing it.
Correcto mundo Lanny, the reason Daugaard will not be politicking is because it is difficult when you are out of state in a federal prison. I think his sins are a least as bad as rounds. Rounds is a useful idiot, but not schooled in law or banking like Daugaard. Nope, Daugaard was the go to guy for all of this corruption and looks like he led the team to the off shoring to hide the moolah and to finance their criminal enterprise. What is the difference between Daugaard and Rounds you ask, the long and short of it is that they are the same.
Prior to Tuesday, Lanny, they hope voters won't figure it out. After Tuesday, they think voters will forget.

As long as Rounds can bilk taxpayers for the better of himself and his friends, and as long as people in this state keep voting for the R instead of the person, Rounds will be in.
Nixon also said something about not being a crook. Daugaard doesn't strike me as being the honest type. Why should anyone believe him?

DR, the October polls show nothing but downward momentum for Pressler. Last Survey USA poll has Weiland above 30, Pressler back below 20. Team Weiland has money for Get Out The Vote; Pressler does not. GOTV may be all that matters at this point. Show me the evidence (no wishful thinking allowed) that backs up your statement.
How would Mr. Pressler be able to identify his likely voters and get them out to vote? He could get the Democrat list and call them up but that's a 50/50 shot these people would vote for him or Mr. Wieland. The party candidates have lists to focus on and Mr. Pressler can't just focus on independents. He risks getting out votes for the others (except Mr. Howie who has only a handful of supporters and all are known by name.)
