Weiland Types up New Website

The truth is out there... in the typography!

After weeks of public outcry (or maybe just a couple snarky blog posts), the Rick Weiland Senate campaign has finally come to its senses (or just gotten around to item #87 on a lengthy list of campaign projects befitting a candidacy that is not and never has been a mere placeholder) and upgraded from its Tumblr site to a regular website: RickWeiland.com!

The typewriter font is, of course, an homage to The X-Files, representing Rick Weiland's fight against super-rich corporate interests who operate above the law and public scrutiny. Or maybe the font harks back to McGovern-era mimeograph machines, reminding the party faithful of grassroots hippie ideals (that fits Weiland's use of Woody Guthrie on the stump). Or maybe it refers to Soviet-era samizdat, calling for subversion of a totalitarian state (there's the Tea Party outreach!).

Or maybe that typewriter font is just a placeholder for a more conventional Web typeface that join the campaign later?

I can picture an a Weiland ad using this typeface and typewriter sounds pointing out Mike Rounds' crony capitalist connections. Similar to a red hot bulletin coming off the teletype machine back in the day.

I agree Nick and also on that ad will be how Rounds is trying to slide to the right with the other Republicans

It's a really bad website that is not friendly to the eyes.

These websites are WAY better and half of them are legislators.

Wieland's website is the worst until you get to Gant's:

Owen's idea of a typewriter on a commercial sounds like a clever idea to me.

I vastly prefer the SDDP website to the SD GOP's.

I just send Weiland campaign $50, but his position on illegal aliens is nonsense in South Dakota or any place else.

I don't know why politicians put together such dreadful and dreadfully useless websites. A simple blog would be better than most of them.
