Forget the Farm Bill; Send Noem Money and Win Kristi’s Hat!

cowboyhatSend money to Rep. Kristi Noem now, and win the perfect symbol of her Congressional career: an empty hat!

Cory [really, she sent me this directly],

Want to win a cowboy hat signed by Congresswoman Kristi Noem?

Donate $10, $25, $50 or more today, and you’ll be automatically entered to win a cowboy hat signed by Kristi.

Kristi is hard at work championing our conservative values and fighting for South Dakotans. She hasn’t rested in her efforts to protect our agriculture industry, repeal Obamacare, and demand answers from the IRS and other government agencies.

She needs our support to continue fighting for these causes.

Please chip in $10, $25, $50 or more today to stand with Kristi and be entered into our drawing for a signed cowboy hat!

We don't yet know who our opponent will be next November, but given the President's constant campaigning and recruitment of candidates who share his Big Government Ideals you can bet it won't be someone who will fight for our freedom like Kristi does.

On behalf of Kristi and our entire team: We appreciate your continued support!

Thank You,

Ashley Timmerman
Finance Director
Kristi for Congress

P.S. Please encourage your friends and family to donate as well so they can be entered to win the cowboy hat (signed by Kristi) as well!

[Kristi for Congress campaign, fundraising e-mail, 2013.08.06]

Rep. Noem can invoke the Obama bogeyman all she wants, but it won't change the fact she still hasn't passed a Farm Bill. All hat, no beef.

Update 13:08 CDT: Rep. Noem did not, alas, send me an invitation to her breakfast reception with her boss Speaker John Boehner next Friday at Spezia's. $500 per couple to eat, $1,000 to get a picture. No word on how much a hat costs.

Dang, I didn't know Spezia's served breakfast. But I'm glad to see Kristi hasn't raised her prices since the last time she had Boehner over for a recess breakfast in 2011.

Hey but she's tough on dust and she makes sure we can pray.

    All hat no cattle...

I would like to see Zach Crago flex his muscles as the Executive Director of the SDDP and organize a protest with farmers.

I'd like to see Ken Santema organize a libertarian protest to stop the NSA spying program.

How often do they get the chance for this free media?

Please Brendan Johnson!!! South Dakota needs you!!!

I get confused easily, so Cory can correct me. To the best of my memory, unless the word begins a sentence, proper nouns are the only nouns that should be capitalized in a sentence.

When did "Big Government Ideals" become a collective proper noun? I missed the memo

That is odd, Kal Lis. I blockquote verbatim, exactly as formatted. One might think the caps were just for emphasis, but Finance Director Timmerman uses bold elsewhere for emphasis. So the caps on Big Government Ideals are either a different kind of emphasis, a citation of some collective proper noun on which I too missed the memo, or just sloppy, scatterbrained emphasis.

Or maybe Timmerman is German. Don't the Germans use all sorts of capitalization?

How appropriate.. A signed hat. A hat that was probably made in Mexico or China. It seems the hat is about all she can sign while in office. This seems a bit like a junior high election ploy.
Yes.... Brendan Johnson... where are you?

So far, she is the only candidate to have taken the "I Signed a Hat" pledge.

This is a big moment to protest not having a farm bill. If Brendan runs that is a key issue.

So is SD's GOP worried about a primary? If she was a shoe-in, would Boehner be in the state?

It is prolly payback for house leaving her twisting in the wind first time around on farm bill

Boehner favored Noem with a similar appearance in 2011, so I hesitate to read any primary-fear implications into this fundraiser. He always makes the money-rounds in August.

By the way, yesterday, he golfed with Donald Trump. That's the politics we get with a Rep. heeling to Speaker Boehner.
