Rick in the Shop, Representing the Rest of Us

In good news, here's a great photo of South Dakota's next Senator:

No, it's not your hunting buddy in the cap. I get the feeling he wouldn't trade his grungy sweatshirt and workshop for a necktie and Washington office for all the corn in Canton. (But watch for Adidas to sponsor next year's Tractor Olympics at the Leola Threshing Bee.)

It's Rick Weiland, who's willing to represent that tractor jockey and the rest of us in Washington D.C. That image comes from his latest campaign ad:

Note the black-and-white image of Mike Rounds and Larry Pressler sitting together at the Dakotafest debate as Weiland warns us of those who just want to help the "corporations and billionaires" at our expense. Maybe the Republicans will threaten to sue the TV stations for saying Rounds is a billionaire.

Keep those strong ads coming, Rick!

Rick raise quite a stir in Pine Ridge and the reservation the past few days, I'm told the people there loved him and are impressed by him. He was there as part of the get out the vote for Native Americans.
Rick is down to earth and Indians understand him, especially his position on Keystone, which is a huge drawing card for Natives.
The reservation has pretty said "up yours" to Native vote suppressor Jason Gant and seem to have said "we are going to vote, with or without your help.

Good to hear, Roger! I really think this election might be in your folks hands this year. Let's send Mr. Weiland to Washington, whaddya say? Hokahey!

The pictures are nice BUT the reality is that if we send Weiland or Rounds to Washington, they will spend half of their time (THAT'S ON OUR TIME) fundraising at the direction of their respective parties.

I would like to see Mr. Weiland and Mr Rounds commit to spending all of their time on issues that matter if elected and not on raising money.

I agree Mike B, whatever happened to campaign finance reform? What is it now, two billion dollars to win a presidential campaign?

I wonder if the "tractor jockey" would poll better than Weiland just like Pressler and Rounds... Which probably explains why both are doing better than the BMW driving never elected Washington bureaucrat.

Hey, that is Jim Smith Sr.

    Mike B.
You haven't been listening to Rick. he has made that commitment to South Dakota voters in both ads and debates and other public forums.

Jenny and Mike B., Rick Weiland is the only candidate who supports giving Congress the power to limit the raising and spending of money in federal elections.

Rick Weiland stopped at the Rosebud Spiritual Camp near Ideal that is in a cornfield about 15 miles northwest of Winner. He was very gracious and listened to our concerns, spent quite a bit of time there and even enjoyed a spaghetti supper. The Get Out The Vote/Rez Tour continues into Monday.

I like the ad. I also like the direction the Weiland campaign is taking. It looks like a winning trajectory!

    Go Rick!
