Kristi Noem, CPAC Socrates

Best quote from Congresswoman Kristi Noem's "comfortably delivered" speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference yesterday:

And a lot of us freshman [sic] don't have a whole lot of knowledge...

Congresswoman Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota)

...about the way that Washington, D.C. is operated.

—Rep. Kristi Noem, quoted in Ledyard King, "Conservatives Tout Kristi Noem as 'Star of the Future,'" that Sioux Falls paper, 2011.02.10

Ah, so that's why she's having breakfast with multi-million dollar lobbyists.

"a lot of us freshman [sic] don’t have a whole lot of knowledge…"

    Truer words were never spoken.

Though I have to give her props for doing an admirable impression of a toilet paper cozy with her hairdo. My grandma used to have one that looked vaguely like her, only it was purple.

Re: "Scared of Kristi" -- Well, I guess I am kind of "scared" of her, like I'm scared of someone incompetent operating heavy machinery. That kind of person can hurt themselves and others.

Noem didn't have a whole lotta' knowledge about how Pierre worked, either - as evidenced by the lack of contributions she made, leaving us with a $127 million structural deficit. But then, neither did or do the South Dakota voters as evidenced by expecting ignorant folks like Noem to actually balance budgets or smoothly run things in Pierre or DC.

Who's John? Nelson? He's never that opinionated. My favorite label for her is "The-camera-loves-her Noem." You can't deny she's cute.

I just wish she wouldn't have hired a bunch of DC hacks and started playing it safe.

It's amazing to me that someone who ran to change washington (I voted for Noem) hired people who haven't lived in SD since highschool. She hired DC folks to tell her how it works. She is the one who is supposed to tell them how it works.

I'm glad SHS is still around though because I think it proves maybe I thought wrong of her and I thought wrong of Noem.

Her lack of knowledge is why she needs to rely on DC lobbyists to tell her how to vote.

    I like the alt-text.

I think the Argus Leader editor was quoting, not creating. But Noem is much like Socrates. And words are her hemlock.

Cory, "John" wasn't Nelson. Positive IDs are the way to go.

You Marxists just can't pass failure through your Liberal hypothalami, can you? You lost. Get over it. She has transcended the Mother ip Loves Famously to a new plateau: MILPH!

One can only wonder what Kristi Noem might think of us!

Maybe something along the lines of Freaks I Love To Hate?

I doubt that Kristi's the hating type, and I doubt she reads our blants (blog rants) either.

Now if I could only discipline myself to stop reading certain reviews of my work on amazon dot com. I Doubt I Ought To Stress.

Lemonade from lemons: maybe all this blog criticism helps us develop thicker skins? Or is that just a euphemism for becoming insensitive?
