Local Endorsement: Steven Kant Urges Vote for Heidelberger

Last updated on 2014.05.05

The Madison Daily Leader declines to publish letters endorsing political candidates. Fortunately for civic discourse, I do not! Lake Madison denizen Steven Kant says Madison voters should put me on the school board:

Cory's platform and vision for the District is very simple. We need to formulate a budget to absorb the $360,000 in education funding cuts presented by this years legislature. We need to do this with a minimum amount of disruption to the students and staff of the District. We need to move forward with a proposal to remodel the high school in a frugal manner. Many modifications and improvements are needed. We need to prioritize them according to necessity of safety with available tax dollars considered along the way. Cory also wants to restore openness to the way this Board operates. I don't think anyone could argue with this [Steven Kant, open letter, 2011.04.06].

You can read Steven's full letter here.

Thanks, Steven! And wow—add that to public endorsements from South DaCola and The Displaced Plainsman, and that's three more public endorsements than I usually hear any Madison Central school board candidate get. (See all the fun you're missing, Jon? Endorsements sell newspapers!)

Not only did I endorse, I voted. Do it early at city hall!
