Noem Staffer Taking Comment at Mitchell Perkins Thursday, 9:30 a.m.

Congresswoman Kristi Noem hasn't posted a new public event on her official web page since May 20. But when she gets done voting the way Speaker Boehner tells her today, perhaps South Dakota's lone Congresswoman will have some time to update her August recess itinerary.

If you can't wait for the Snow Queen herself, you can speak to one of her assistants in Mitchell on Thursday. Noem staffer Suzanne Veemis will hold court at the Mitchell Perkins restaurant Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. "Express concerns... talk issues..." and apparently no reservations or party loyalty oaths required.

Let's hope Thursday is the first of many opportunities throughout August to give Rep. Noem and her staff a piece of our minds. And folks, if you do attend, I will welcome your quotes, pix, and video from those Noem events!

Update 10:53 CDT: An alert reader asks if that's Veemis:

...or Veenis:

If the latter, we can only hope Perkins goes for redder decor:

    Corey,

You didn't say if Kristi was paying for breakfast? I would go if she bought me a belgian waffle. I like mine with strawberries and whip cream, by the way. lol

After breakfast, I'll head over to the McGovern Library. That's a cool place to visit. It reminds you of what commonsense leadership use to encompass in our great state along with perhaps the most hardworking congressman we ever had.

Sorry, Guy: I'm pretty sure breakfast is on your own dime. But hey, this is South Dakota: self-reliance, remember?

    McGovern Library -- lovely idea!

Well, I just thought if she buys me a waffle in Mitchell, then, I'll return the favor and buy her breakfast when she speaks at the Perkins in Sioux Falls? You know, the nice thing to do. But, of course, there is probably some PC law against that sort of thing these days...lol!

I met Ms. Veenis at an event in Sioux Falls a few months ago. She is quite a nice lady and perhaps the only bright spot of Kristi Noem being our Representative.
I suspect Ms. Veenis will speak on specifics rather than do the typical thing Kristi Noem does and avoid constituents on hot button issues.

Good for Kristi. Send a staff member out to do your work...

"She's got it / Yeah, baby, she's got it!"

[CAH: I knew Chris would like that. Everybody dance!]

Yes. That would be Veenis with an "n". Now - time to erase that song from my head. Thanks for that ... :)

I see by the Locals column in Friday's Madison Daily Leader, a Noem staffer will be at Gary's Bakery from 12-1. "Outreach Day"

I suppose Noem would attend one of these events but she is too busy communicating to her constituents via Greta and Cavuto on FNC.

Sue! What day? Consider my lunch calendar cleared!

Cory, tomorrow, Tuesday. Sorry I didn't put that in my earlier post.

Thanks, Sue... but nertz! I'm on the road tomorrow over the noon hour. Someone get down to Gary's with a video camera!

HOW ABOUT HAVING A TOWN HALL MEETING LIKE HERSETH DIDNT HAVE YOU ARE RUNNING AWAY FROM YOUR CONSTITUENTS.

My guess is she will fill everyone in on how the big vote this week out of DC will actually hurt most people in SD.

But, once she's done with taking the heat there she will roll out the big jobs bill she promised when Kristi was running for office. Just dying to hear what that plan is.

Guessing that the media will be all over that one...you know, since that was one of her promises and stuff.

Although being called out by the Tea Party as bailing on her debt ceiling vote, the story could change.
