Hey, all you conservatives! Want me to leave the country? Here's your chance to put your money where your mouth is!
My French students here at Spearfish High School are holding a French Toast Feed Saturday (tomorrow!). We'll be serving French toast with juice and coffee from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Spearfish High School commons.
$5 gets you a plate of French toast and a beverage. Your money will help my French students cover expenses for the big trip to France that we are planning for March 2013. Our itinerary includes Paris, Normandy, Brittany, and lots of baguettes and fromage.
So grab a friend and come get some French toast for lunch on Saturday!
Are you assuming that you have continued employment next year and that the French program won't be cut?
Michael, you make such lovely dinner conversation.
Seriously, I have no idea what will happen next year. I take the governor's status quo budget as a sign that schools at least won't face the necessity of drastic cuts. I have no guarantee of employment next year. But that shouldn't stop a French teacher from planning activities that serve educational objectives.
And to think that the Republicans say that uncertainty in the market is what is holding consumers back...oh wait...that right, political uncertainty is only a concern for "job creators" and not families.
Pulling our pants up and putting on our shoes assumes we are available for the day. Teachers do the same thing every day when they-- push the classroom door open---much like the school bell rang and welcome students each day at the one room schools.
Hopefully being a proactive teacher who can motivate students to help on a fundraiser for a club trip over a year away is the type of dedication to the job that will be rewarded with continued employment.
That's gravy, Nick! Now I gotta go get my spatula....
Wish we were closer so we could have some French toast. Sounds like a good meal to me!
Mr. Black - I don't believe I have ever read anything positive from your comments. It is the problem with many people - always negative - that hurts the school system and other people that are working towards positive attitudes and try to get positive results.
Geez Louise, Mike...Since I don't know how to insert an image into a comment here, this link will have to do.
I wish you all of the success in the world Cory. Spearfish has two world languages while many schools offer only one and that might be over the DDN.
'Twas good to meet you there, Cory. Man, you have a lot of energy!
Erin: Love it!!! A picture is worth a thousand words.
Good to meet you, too, Stan! Thanks for taking the time to drop by! (And I like your hat a lot!)
Erin, I love the link!
