At the 2010 State Fair debate, Kristi Noem said "our family always comes to the State Fair."
Last week, Rep. Noem called fair season a great South Dakota tradition:
With only a few weeks of summer left before school begins again, many families across South Dakota are flocking to the local county fair for a day or evening filled with rides, delicious food and great company. One of South Dakota's great traditions, fairs lure thousands to area fairgrounds each year, my family included.
Each summer, Bryon, Kassidy, Kennedy, Booker and I look forward to piling in the truck to go enjoy fair season. Some people head out to a fair for a concert or to watch a rodeo, others go to see the exhibits and walk around the midway. Whatever the preference, South Dakota's fairs offer something for everyone.
...Whether it is the Central States Fair, the Turner County Fair or the South Dakota State Fair, fairs are a unique opportunity to visit 4-H booths, livestock barns and experience family-friendly entertainment. I hope all South Dakotans will be able to make a trip to a fair this year to create lasting memories with friends, family and the South Dakota community [Rep. Noem's memory evidently doesn't last beyond the latest review of her internal polling or her campaign manager's latest bad advice.
I was wondering what type of audience it was there that she was concerned about.

Actions speak louder than empty-headed platitudes. I'd like to say Kristi Noem is against family-owned farms and ranches, but that would give her too much credit. She's lazy, unfocused and uninterested in serving South Dakota in Congress. She spent the last two years to get her degree from SDSU, financed by your taxes. Just like your taxes subsidized millions to her family's ag operations.
2014 can not come soon enough and the return of Stephanie Herseth, hopefully to the US Senate and hopefully, Noem won't be around after this election to join her in the Congressional delegation.
The government is us. Kristi is a creation of government. She is a monster of our own making.
