Snow days evidently drive me to lower my standards to those of the Republican spinsters with whom I share the South Dakota blogosphere. But at least they don't drive me to drink!
A few months ago, Pat Powers found it newsworthy to mention the fact that Democratic candidate for Congress Matt Varilek appeared on occasion to enjoy alcoholic refreshments. Powers suggested that individuals engaging in such bacchanalia "don’t post photos and brag about it on the Internet."
It appears that the executive director of Powers's own party doesn't pay attention to Powers's blog:
Tony Post, SDGOP exec, gin drinker. Cheers.
Gin puts hair on your prematurely bald head, and makes you think you're thinner, smarter, more charismatic, and more handsome than you actually are.
Is this Mr. Post fellow binge ginning and stuffing vast quantities of processed meats from CAFO pig farms into his maw like that Mr. Varilek fellow does, or is Mr. Post sitting around the fire in a turtleneck sweater reading a high-brow magazine and sipping his pine berries? Not that there's anything wrong with either activity. I, too, eat processed meats when I can buy them.
Rorch,
Bourbon actually makes you thinner, smarter, more charismatic, and more handsome so long as you drink it "neat."
Bourbon! That's what I've been missing.
I don't always drink gin, but when I do, I vote Republican.
