Light Posting Alert: It’s Moving Day!

Whoo-hoo! The Heidelbergers will put over 1,500 miles on a variety of vehicles over the next 24 hours as we return to Madville Times summer headquarters at Lake Herman. I don't blog and drive, so that, plus the need to unpack, means light posting through Monday.

But as we traverse our great state à la Joad, get ready for a fun week of blogging, including...

  • a discussion of the immigration reform bill that South Dakotans want, that Rick Weiland says is just a band-aid to bigger problems, and that John Thune and some other Republicans oppose simply because they fear immigrants will lean left;
  • eager anticipation of Annette Bosworth's announcement of her candidacy (please, please, someone convince her to primary Noem, not Rounds!), most likely 24 hours on either side of July 4, when no one will be paying attention;
  • a report from the Lake Herman Sanitary District's big public informational meeting on the central sewer feasibility study;
  • ...and much more!

Happy Canada Day, everyone!

    Our family vacationed one year in Winnipeg for Canada Day. That was the year after we vacationed in Washington, D.C., for Independence Day. The Winnipeg trip is worth the drive. The Washington visit is something every American should experience.

    I hope you are not traveling the back roads of SD in a worn out 1920's Hudson, but if you need a tow give me a call. If you're looking for work, SD job service will gladly put you in touch with someone willing to pay $1 a day for seasonal laborers. Beware that police will be deployed to bust skulls of any potential union organizers.
