County Commissioner Checks Madville Times for Willard Case Info

Live from the Lake County Courthouse, intrepid reporter David Montgomery is live-tweeting jury selection in the Dan Willard robocall case. Montgomery reporters that Willard attorney R. Shawn Tornow is asking jurors if they've read about the case on Dakota War College or the Madville Times.

Lake County Commissioner Scott Pedersen, who is in the jury pool, says he hasn't read about it on DWC, but he has read about it on the Madville Times.

I'd like to conclude that I'm clearly better read among the powers that be in Lake County. But Scott's a smart guy: he's probably just angling to get struck by the prosecution.

Oh! But Tornow strikes Pedersen, and the state does not object. Back to the boat shop, Scott... and keep the shop computer tuned to MadvilleTimes.com!

Update 14:27 CDT: In more market research news, Tornow asks jurors if they know Rep. Stace Nelson. None say they do. Better crank up the advertising, candidate Nelson!

Also not on jurors' TOMA: Pat Powers, Secretary of State Jason Gant, gubernatorial advisor Tony Venhuizen, and Sen. Dan Lederman. You folks really need to read the Madville Times more often!

interesting...I would think they would be asking them if they'd received any of the phone calls

You know, Anne, I'm not sure anybody but the targeted politicos, journalists, and other poobahs received those calls. Did any of the calls in question go out to the general public?
