Filmmaker Walking Keystone XL Crosses Harding County; Northwest in November!

You wouldn't think a guy would get much company in Harding County, South Dakota. But Bret Clanton has all sorts of interesting characters visiting his northwest South Dakota ranch.

His latest visitor is Seattle filmmaker Rebecca Jane Rodriguez. She's walking the length of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, from Port Arthur, Texas, to Hardisty, Alberta to collect material for a documentary she calls This Land Was Your Land.

Rodriguez started walking June 4 in Texas. She has 340 miles to go. Rodriguez is camping out and walking northwest. Toward Alberta. In November.

Clanton says he had a delightful conversation with Rodriguez. He also wants to spread the word to folks up-route to keep an eye out and help keep her safe as she crosses hard country in cold weather.

Rodriguez has some awesome pictures of South Dakota and the rest of her trek. Clanton's pretty good with his camera, too.
