Oglala Lakota College Hosts Candidates Forum Friday: Lowe, Hubbel, Myers, Nelson…

Kyle on Friday! You betcha!

Oglala Lakota College is hosting an open political forum this Friday, May 16, starting at 1 p.m. Mountain at the Piya Wiconi Campus Academic/Public Library in Kyle. According to the presser in my box, Republican Lora Hubbel, Democrat Joe Lowe, and Independent Mike Myers will all be there to explain why each should be our next governor. Dennis Daugaard will not attend to pitch his rehire, since he's busy spending $93,000 not mentioning EB-5 in China.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Stace Nelson has accepted the invitation to speak at Friday's forum in Kyle as well. Republican Senate candidate Larry Rhoden and incumbent Congressional re-upper Kristi Noem have declined to attend. We're waiting to hear from the other campaigns.

Whoever does show up will have a chance to talk about the "XL Pipeline, minimum wage, EB5-Beef Packing Plant, BIA and IHS funding, and Medicaid expansion," among other things. And we'll all have a chance to hear them livestreamed on KILI Radio and KOLC TV.

Susan Wismer isn't coming? Oh, well. She doesn't know much about the issues.

Does anyone know if this debate will be posted on youtube? Unfortunately I messed up on my debate times and listened to it on the web radio for the last half hour or so. I tried to watch it via the TV station but it didn't work for me.

Rhino Lynn, how did you think the debate went?

  7. Rhino Lynn 2014.05.17

Shirley Harrington-Moore, I thought it went really well but I caught the tail end of it wishing I would of been able to see it or hear it from the beginning. The moderator was very good and it helped when Ken from SoDakLiberty was tweeting live.

There were very good questions asked.
