That Sioux Falls paper features this piping-hot appetizer showing Sanaa Abourezk turning her 8th Street Gourmet into Coyote Ugly:
Come dance, come eat—what more could Sioux Falls need to recruit workers?
And Jim Abourezk, how do you ever concentrate?
Now we know what keeps Jim Abourezk more youthful than his chronological years - besides just the food.
That was so much fun...More entrepreneurs should show their lighter side...Cory, time to bust a move...:-)
Ms. Volesky, is this objectifying women like people are doing to the pretty young Dr. Bos?
no, it is not objectifying women...get your old butt out there and dance whoever you are.
I always like the occasional column that she used to have in the Argus Leader. Just from reading those columns I think she would be fun to know.
Joan, I see in that dance the same confidence and panache that would make for good writing.
I used to dance, Mr. Pauli. I was not very good but I liked it and did not care when people laughed.
Likewise, I did lots of dancing as a young person..Not highly talented, but it was always fun.
Great philanthropy. A link through her YouTube video is to a children's hospice she supports. The group singing in the video did it as a benefit to that hospice.
It's Pay it Forward Weekend. We actually have to name a weekend for this, but here it is. https://www.facebook.com/events/1531000090493751/
Here's my MVT version of this weekend. If Steve Sibson will do the same video as Mrs. Abourezk - dancing and cooking, iphone-quality acceptable, posted here at MVT - I will donate $100 in Sibson's and MVT's names to whatever charity this blog's readers collectively decide upon.
Will you do it Sibson?
I love it! That was great fun. Good for her. Older women are gorgeous and sexy.
Indeed they are, Deb! My wife's increasing gorgeousness seems to confirm your statement.
Careful, Taunia: Sibson was in a rock band in his ill-spent youth. Tempt him into making such a video, and you'll unleash all that hedonist energy he has worked so hard to suppress.
Cory, please tell me Sibby was a drummer for Spinal Tap.
1st we discover he's only been reborn for 10 years...and now, what a guitar player? AC/DC? TMI! :)
Sibs was big alice cooper fan.
Mr. Grudz, I stopped over at the Cheyenne crossing for breakfast. It was quite good, but I would have liked to have made your introduction.
Cheyenne Crossing still being run by Republicans from somewhere else?
Nice post Cory! A few years back I had the pleasure of enjoying one of Sanaa's wonderful multi-course meals when she and Jim still lived in the Black Hills. What a treat!
Cory her newspaper columns were informational and also included some humor. I don't know if she decided to quit writing or if that was another of the Argus infamous moves.
I used to dance, but then I ended up marrying a guy that could only dance after he was half drunk and I don't call that dancing. I liked to jitterbug, polka, waltz, two step, etc.
Dancing is so good for everyone. Exercise, self-expression, laughter, endorphins, etc. Probably the only people who dance enough are professionals.
I had to watch it again. It's so fun! And whatever she was cooking looks scrumptious!
Nice article about her and the video creation in today's Argus. Trying to get her on the Ellen Show.
Grudz, this is not objectifying Mrs. A because she does not rock the political boat like Boz, Hubbel, or Tyler. Heaven forbid a woman in SD questioning the male mob and having an opinion.
I's have guessed, listening to the Sibster rant,he is a big Marilyn Manson fan. Or was it Boy George?
