Chris Kristi in Madison Monday for GOP Dinner!

The Lake County Republicans are holding their Lincoln Day Dinner Monday in Madison. (Curious: does anyone know why they hold a Lincoln Day dinner closer to the day Lincoln was shot than the day he was born?)

Hot off insulting South Dakota Republicans and boring North Dakota Republicans at the NDGOP convention, Congresswoman Kristi Noem will come put Madison's moneyed elites to sleep with another dull wrongnote address. Trying to look attentive and non-drowsy during Noem's ramble will be the man she shouldn't have beaten in the 2010 GOP primary, PUC commissioner Chris Nelson. No hard feelings there, I'm sure.

Also feeling their way through the dark at Nicky's Monday will be PUC commissioner Kristie Fiegen and gubernatorial chief of staff Dusty Johnson. Dusty will surely counter Noem's dreary speech with his lively presentation skills. Fiegen will just say, "Yeah, the Governor likes me, so you should vote for me"... which is all the rationale Republicans like District 8 Senator Russell Olson need for their policy agenda.

It remains to be seen if Santorum supporter and District 8 House candidate Leslie Heinemann will show his true colors and bring Gordon Howie's Tea Party RV back to Madison for the Lincoln Day Dinner. But maybe we'll see some of the radical Lake County Republicans who signed on as committeemen, like the McIntyres and Krogers, stage a little anti-RINO reactionaryism.

No word yet on when the Lake County Democrats will be hosting a Jefferson Day or McGovern Day Dinner to bring candidates in to shake hands, make rousing speeches, and raise money. I'll let you know when they do.

Chris Kristi? That's kind of not fair. Chris will at least liven up the crowd with his bloviation and "None of Your Business" answers.
